Human trafficking is a crime and cannot be solved by an NGO alone but by collective efforts Female Foeticide Action Aid and the International Development Research Centre Report revealed that in the last 20 years ending 2007, five North Indian States, including Haryana and Punjab, have lost 10 million unborn Girl children, most of them due to alleged female feticides. Example: Ketan Khalho of Jharkhand, who set his wife, Sarita Devi, on fire after she gave birth to their fifth daughter Domestic Violence Every six hours, a young married woman is burned, beaten to death or driven to commit suicide. Example: Ratan Hari waghe a resident of Mumbai, Maharashtra who allegedly killed his wife Kamla because he did not find the fish curry she cooked to the delight of his palate

3 UNITED NATIONS OFFICE ON DRUGS AND CRIME A Letter of Intent was signed between Angel Foundation and the UNITED NATIONS Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Regional Office for South Asia (ROSA). 6 Stationary Distribution Angel Foundation on 25th of March 2009 distributed stationary to the needy children of the Kalyanpuri area slums, for whom it s impossible to pursue their studies as they cannot afford to buy even basic books. The slums have a population of over 200,000, the average income of the families living here is 30,000 to 60,000 per annum. Nukkad Naatika (Street Play) Organized a Nukad Natika (Street Play) on April 20, 2009 in the slums of Delhi to educate women about the female foeticide. Registering all the pregnant women and monitoring them for the next 9 months. Angel Foundation will make people aware in the slums that the girl child would not be a liability when she grows up and instead she would be an asset for the family. For this cause, Angel Foundation are planning to build around 300 centres in Punjab.
