The irport is owned nd operted y the TsPorts (Tsmnin Ports Corportion) Pty Ltd. Popultion of the Mersey-Leven Are is pproximtely 64,200. Storms, flooding nd lndslip re lso identified nturl hzrds ffeting the ommunity. Exmples of reent emergenies relevnt to our re inlude: Mersey River Floods August 24 th 1970; one ftlity nd estimted dmge of $5 million; 58 homes evuted in Ltroe of whih 15 were lter ondemned; mny ridges on Dsher nd Mersey rivers wshed wy. This issue is identified in the Mersey-Leven Risk Register s representing High risk. A Mersey River Flood Response nd Reovery Pln is urrently nering ompletion. Forth Flood August 2007; resulted in property dmge nd losure of Leith Rod nd Wilmot Rod. Following the event flood levee hs een onstruted to protet property in Leith Rod; n emergeny ess rod Issue 2, Deemer 2014 Pge 11 of 53

12 hs een identified for Wilmot Rod. This issue is lso identified in the Mersey-Leven Risk Register s representing High risk. A Lower Forth Flood Response nd Reovery Pln ws ompleted in Mrh Turners Beh Fire 2007; onsiderle numer of homes in the township were thretened fening lost. The fire spotted up to 2 km wy from the front nd rossed the Forth River. TFS hs sine developed Turners Beh Fire Mngement Pln. Keley Tier Fires; hve ourred every two to three yers. Assets thretened inlude oth housing nd teleommunitions infrstruture. A mngement pln exists for this re nd hs resulted in effetive risk minimistion nd response efforts in reent yers. Storms re regulr ourrene e.g. the flood in Septemer 2009, in whih 36,000 homes were without power for up to three dys, resulted in ost to the Centrl Cost Counil of pproximtely $80,000.
