4 Business Water Sampling for the Water Industry Professional This course is designed for prospective or professional water industry personnel. Special focus will be on the operator s and analyst s responsibility handling of the sampling event through completion of the final report. Topics include water quality, proper sampling techniques, field methods, basic laboratory analysis and reports. Handouts and videos will accompany your learning experience. Class approved for contact hours through SWRCB and CWEA. Jacqueline McCloud is an Environmental Projects Analyst for the City of Watsonville. She holds a Bachelor of Sciences in Earth Science and certifications as Grade 4 Laboratory Analyst through CWEA as well as a Grade 2 in Distribution from CDPH. In 2013 she received local, State, and National recognition as Laboratory Person of the Year. Training will include excerpts from the USC Cross Connection Control Manual, videos, and exposure to all types of backflow prevention assemblies for practical, hands-on experience in preparation for testing. SWRCB & CWEA approved for contact hours. Students must attend a minimum of 40 hours to qualify to take the certification exam. Instructor will provide testing info at class. Exam fee is extra. Students required to purchase textbook: USC Cross Connection Control Manual, 10th edition at: usc.edu/dept/fccchr/ or call Mike Wolf is a Cross Connection Specialist. Prerequisite: Basic Water Distribution series or equivalent class and or D2 certification. This course satisfies SWRCB as a primary distribution course, secondary for both the treatment and distribution exams. This class will prepare and qualify you for the State of California Water Distribution Operators Certificate, Grades D-3, D-4 and D-5.
