2 Every day, 10,000 U.S. baby boomers turn 65. With the largest generational group reducing their work hours through retirement or semiretirement, employment and advancement opportunities are on the rise. As the job market changes, now is the time to prepare for the job you desire. Do you have the skills you need for the role you are seeking? Does your resume reflect that you keep your skills up-to-date? Can you prove you are competent in your profession? Many professionals prove competency by obtaining alternative credentials, including professional certifications and licenses, or participating in educational certificate programs. USI offers courses to help you study for national certification tests as well as certificate programs that allow you to develop job skills you need today. We require no prerequisites, degrees or admission to the University, and most programs can be completed in one semester. Enroll, learn and enhance your resume today. Overall, people working full-time with alternative credentials earned more than those without any alternative credentials, and people with professional certifications and licenses earned the most. Some classes have limited enrollments and fill quickly; at other times, classes have to be cancelled because of low enrollment. As a general rule, go/no-go decisions are made about one week before the scheduled starting date. Registration is not complete until the fee is paid or authorization to invoice is received. COURSE NUMBERS Refer to the course number (for example, CIS510 or BUS509) when you register. Using the proper course number will guarantee that your registration is for the correct course section. COURSE CONFIRMATION You will receive an electronic or written confirmation/receipt that will include the starting date and time, location and any special information you need. Cancelled Courses and Refunds IF USI CANCELS A COURSE, you will receive a full refund. Normally, courses which do not reach the minimum required enrollment one week prior to the first session will be cancelled. We reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or combine classes, and to change instructors, although every effort is made to conduct courses as listed in this schedule. What You Want We are pleased to provide your top three requests: 1. Project Management for the Everyday Professional Whether you are an accountant, a healthcare administrator or a human resource professional, you need strong project management skills. This 12-hour USI certificate program is ideal for all professionals who want to learn best practice and cutting edge methodologies. 2. Managing a Multi-Generational Workforce The topic comes up during every training session. Today s workforce is diverse in age which leads to differences in comfort with technology, communication preferences, experience and more. Learn strategies to help professionals of all ages work side-by-side. 3. SHRM Learning System Because of changes at the national level, this is the final offering of the SHRM Learning System, a course which prepares professionals for Human Resources Certification Institute s PHR/SPHR certification. HR professionals who pass the December 2014 exam will earn certifications from both HRCI and SHRM. Call Deb Wolf at for more information about this unique opportunity. Where and When You Want Training For the convenience of Evansville professionals, most courses will be held in the evening at Innovation Pointe, 318 Main Street, downtown Evansville. See USI.edu/continuinged for details. IF YOU CANCEL YOUR REGISTRATION, a processing fee will be charged. If you notify Continuing Education of withdrawal prior to the second meeting of a multi-session class you will receive an 85 percent refund. (The amount withheld will not exceed $15 per refund processed.) Refund policies vary for single-session programs and those which have fewer than four scheduled meetings.
