Training will include excerpts from the USC Cross Connection Control Manual, videos, and exposure to all types of backflow prevention assemblies for practical, hands-on experience in preparation for testing. This class is CDPH & CWEA approved for contact hours. Students interested in a certificate must attend a minimum of 40 hours to qualify to take the certifcation exam. 5 Business & Money Water Treatment Plant Operations 2 (Ages 16 & Up) 36-Hour Certificate Program This is an advanced program designed to teach students the principles of operating and maintaining water treatment plants. This course will cover iron and manganese control, the flouridation process, softening, trihalomethanes and demineralization, plant operations, safety, water quality regulations, administration and waterworks math. This program is helpful to students who will be taking the State of California, Water Treatment Operator exam for grades III & IV (T-3 & T-4). This course will cover the fundamentals of pretreatment programs including regulations, sources of industrial wastewaters, pretreatment processes, industrial permitting and inspection and sampling procedures. Emphasis will be placed on industrial inspections and how to monitor wastewater in order to get representative samples.
