2 Registering For CTSO using FAIR Taken from the CTSO website: Under the Centralized Scholarship Program, financial need will be determined by third-party evaluator, FAIR, Inc. Parents will need to apply through FAIR for a CTSO Scholarship and the cost to complete an application is $ Each family will need to complete only one application regardless of how many children or how many schools are attended for each academic year. FAIR applications can be completed online at FAIR (Financial Aid Independent Review) and use School Code: 800 and password: ctso800. Once the application has been submitted, supporting financial documents or an Income Verfication Form will need to be sent by fax or mail before the application is considered complete and ready for evaluation. FAIR applications can also be submitted by mail. Paper Applications are available at each catholic school in the Diocese of Tucson or one can be requested to be sent by mail at Mailed in applications will need to include supporting financial documents or an Income Verfication Form and the $21.00 payment before the application is considered complete and ready for evaluation. Re-Registration information Re-Registration It is very important that you re-register your child(ren) no later that Friday, March 22 nd, This deadline assists us in determining class sizes for next year, including the new students who have registered and will be new next year. If you have any questions, please call or stop by the school office. 2

3 Rainy day info If it is raining, thundering and/or lightning, at dismissal time, you must pick-up your child(ren) at: Grades Kindergarten - 3 at their classrooms, Grades 4-8 at the Room 17 Gate or the Office Gate. No student will be dismissed to a parking lot, but will wait at the gates for parents to come get them. No students will be allowed to use the North Gate in inclement weather. Please remember that no child may wait in front of the Parish Center or Church, at any time Safety Concerns The front of the school office, and the area by the north Church garden ARE NOT drop-off locations. Students are not allowed to wait for the gates to open at the front of the school (by the office) or by the Room 17 gate, unless a parent or guardian is with them. We have teachers who monitor the two drop-off locations. One is on the south side of the school. There will be no parking in this lot between 7:30 and 8:15 due to this lot being used as a drop off zone. The north parking lot (near the Parish Center) is also a drop off zone starting at 7:30 a.m. If you are planning to stay for morning assembly, please park in the designated parking areas of the north parking lot, or the Craycroft parking lot. Please take extra care when driving in our parking lots and when backing out. DO NOT park in the handicap spaces unless you have the proper display card/plate and you are the designated person that needs to use it. Remember that the fine is $500 for illegally parking in a handicap space. STUDENTS MAY LEAVE CAMPUS FROM THE FRONT OFFICE GATE OR BY RM 17 GATE, ONLY WITH A PARENT OR GUARDIAN. TEACHERS ARE ON DUTY AT THE NORTH AND SOUTH GATES TO MONITOR THOSE PARKING LOTS 3

4 Dear Eagle Athletes and Parents, Eagle Sports Information If this is your first track season, welcome! We did our best to balance the needs of the team with the desires of our athletes. We have three more Saturday meets and three weekday meets. My goal is to get our athletes entered into as many events as possible before Finals in late April. Please contact me with any event schedule questions. Saturday meets can be long and hot so please come prepared. We typically set up a few shade structures on the east side of the infield. Please bring additional shade and chairs to share with our kids and other parents along with LOTS OF WATER and some light snacks. The snack bar will be open and I encourage you to buy from them as well, but please keep the food light - our kids can't run/jump very well on full bellies! Coach V. 6 From the Fiesta chairperson Fiesta News Dear St. Joseph Community, The Fiesta Committee is asking for your help to recruit sponsors for this year's fiesta. Sponsors are an instrumental piece to the financial success of this fund raiser. Whether you own your business, you ask your employer, or you know of any business that would like help, please contact us as soon as possible. There are many Sponsorship Tiers available. Please contact Mr. Hall regarding Sponsorships. If sponsorship is not in your budget, we will gladly accept any gift certificate donations to be raffled off during the fiesta. Our parish Fiesta is set for April 12th and 13th, PreSale for tickets begin on Monday, March 18th Fiesta Pullout begin on Saturday, March 23 rd. 7 Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) is sponsoring a Saturday Math tutoring session for students in grades The tutoring service is provided by the National Society of Black Engineers and the University of Arizona engineering students. This test is administered every year. As stated in the administration manual, these tests serve as a tool for assessing the effectiveness of catechetical/religious education programs; offer a picture of where grade 5 and 8 students are in terms of their basic religious knowledge; assesss the religious beliefs, attitudes, practices, and perceptions of students in these grades in addition to an evaluation of their religious knowledge; and provide information about areas of strengths in catechetical/religious education programs as well as areas that may need additional attention or improvement. No preparation is required for these tests, and they are usually completed in one to two class periods.
