1 Family Programs Touch a Truck, Reading Registration & Ice Cream - Monday, June 30 Beginning at 6:00 p.m. come to the Library to Touch a Truck. A variety of large vehicles will be parked on Wolcott Street for children to see up-close. Sign up for the Summer Reading Program and play on the inflatable obstacle course. Children may use our fishing poles to give fishing a try! Free ice cream sundaes (while supplies last). Charlie & Checkers Wednesday, July 2-6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Charlie the Cowboy and Checkers the Clown juggle, perform magic, ride a unicycle and more! Don t miss this hilarious program full of fun and laughter! Limit 100 children. Omnipresent Puppet Theater Presents: The Three Little Pigs The fun-filled story of three brothers who move out of their parents home, only to be menaced by the Big Bad Wolf, who keeps blowing down their houses. Limit 75 children. The Traveling Campfire - Summer Program Finale Rick Merritt brings a campfire to the Library. Hear a variety of folktales, punny stories, poems, and lively songs. Be ready for lots of audience participation! You ll be having so much fun, you won t even realize there isn t a real fire. Limit 100 children. Please remember to register each individual child who will be attending. Do not register as an adult intending to bring multiple children. Registration for all summer programs begins Monday, June 16 at 9:00 a.m. Register online at or call

Children will have the opportunity to: Build with our giant bin of Legos Rock out with Guitar Hero on the Wii Play with a selection of our board games Don t miss out on a fun afternoon. Feel free to bring a lunch or snack! Registration is NOT required for these programs!

3 Summer Programs For Toddlers and Preschoolers Toddler Time for Twos Mondays from 10:30 to 10:50 a.m. June 30 - August 11 (7 week session) Rhymes, stories, music, coloring, and bubbles! Child must be 2 by the starting date. A parent or caregiver must attend with the child. Limit 10 children. Storytime Sessions Preschool Storytime for 3, 4, and 5 year olds Tuesdays from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. July 1 - August 12 (7 week session) Stories, music, flannel board stories, fingerplays, nursery rhymes, coloring, and bubbles! Children must be 3 by the starting date. Limit 15 children. Programs for Ages 3, 4, & 5 Weather * Monday, July 7-1:00 to 1:30 p.m. Listen to stories and learn about weather. Listen to music, dance, and make a craft. Sound & Music* Monday, July 14-1:00 to 1:30 p.m. Listen to stories and learn about sounds and music. Dance to music and make a craft. Food Science* Monday, July 21-1:00 to 1:30 p.m. Listen to stories and learn about the science of food and cooking. Dance to music and make a craft. Transportation* Monday, July 28-1:00 to 1:30 p.m. Listen to stories about different modes of transportation. Dance to music and make a craft. Weird Science* Monday, August 4-1:00 to 1:30 p.m. Listen to stories and learn some weird scientific facts. Dance to music and make a craft. Celebrations* Monday, August 11-1:00 to 1:30 p.m. Listen to stories about different celebrations. Dance to music and make a craft. Discover the secret behind glow sticks and fireworks. Why do we see colors? Why do cats see better at night than we do? How are rainbows formed? Discover these and other answers in this fun, interactive show. Limit 30 children. Led by The Rochester Museum and Science Center. Goo Wednesday, July 16-1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Everyone likes goo! Make and play with a variety of goo. Limit 15 children. Led by Samantha Bortle. Big Top Science Wednesday, July 23-1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Come one, come all to see the amazing ringmaster of science present spellbinding science demonstrations. This program is sponsored by the WML Friends of the Library. Limit 30 children. Led by The Buffalo Museum of Science. Cold-blooded Critters Thursday, July 24-1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Live reptiles and amphibians will visit the Library to help illustrate what separates us from our cold-blooded cousins. Limit 30 children. Led by Beaver Meadow Audubon Center. Seed Bombs Wednesday, July 30-1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Bombs away! Get your hands dirty making seed bombs for your garden. Children will also create a garden journal. Limit 15 children. Led by Trisha Riggi. Simple Science Wednesday, August 6-1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Have fun with hands-on simple science experiments. Limit 20 children. Led by Betsy Halvorsen. Electricity* Tuesday, July 15-1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Get electrified with hands-on experiments and demonstrations that help explain atoms and their role in electric currents. A 400,000-volt Van de Graaff generator will make this a truly hair-raising experience! This program is sponsored by the WML Friends of the Library. Limit 30 children. Led by The Rochester Museum and Science Center. Science Below Zero Wednesday, July 23-2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Want to know what happens when you stick things in liquid nitrogen? This is the program for you! Learn about molecules, phase changes, explosions, implosions, pressure, and density through a series of exciting experiments. Limit 30 children. Led by The Buffalo Museum of Science. Cold-blooded Critters Thursday, July 24-2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Live reptiles and amphibians will visit the Library to help illustrate what separates us from our cold-blooded cousins. Limit 30 children. Do some hands-on science experiments with things you can find in the kitchen. Limit 20 children. Led by Betsy Halvorsen.
