2 1. Drama Club Are you interested in learning how to act? Drama Club will teach the basics by playing fun, creative games and preparing and performing activities and plays. We will practice spontaneous improvisation and mime skills too! When: Mondays at 14:15-15:15, starting on January 11 th, 2016 (no classes on week 8) Where: Gym Teacher: Steve Jacob 2. American Football Club Would you like to play an exciting new sport and get some great exercise? Come and join the American Football Club! We will be playing Flag Football (non-contact) where we will learn the basics of this fun game. Come join us for a new adventure! Chess Club 1 st to 9 th graders Kerhoon on tervetullut jokainen shakista kiinnostunut riippumatta pelitasosta. Kerho ei edellytä shakin sääntöjen aiempaa tuntemista. Kerhossa saa käydä säännöllisesti, satunnaisesti tai vaikkapa vain tutustamassa. Kerhoon saa tulla koulupäivän päätyttyä ja sieltä saa myös lähteä oman aikataulun mukaisesti. Vaikka kerho on varsin vapaamuotoinen, innokkaimmille se tarjoaa mahdollisuuden nousta Suomen mestaruustasolle asti. Englantilainen koulu onkin voittanut shakin koulujoukkueiden ala-asteiden Suomen mestaruuden viisi kertaa ( ).Yläasteiden mestaruuksia on kolme ( ) ja luokkien mestaruuksia kaksi (2011,2012).

3 All who are interested in chess are welcome to join the club regardless of the level of knowledge. There is no requirement for mastering the chess rules to join the club. You may attend the club regularly, occasionally or you may come and see whether you like it or not. You may join the club after your lessons and you may leave according to your own schedule. Although the club is not strictly organized, it does offer an opportunity to reach even Finnish championship level playing for those who are interested. The English School has actually won the Elementary School Team Chess Championship games five times ( ). Kerhossa opitaan sanoja ja ilmaisuja, joita maailman yli 500 milj. espanjan kielistä käyttävät arjessaan. Kevään aikana opimme lisää espanjan kielen perussanastoa, mm. tervehtimään ja tekemään ostoksia espanjaksi. Mukaan mahtuu niin vasta-alkajat kuin kieltä jo vähän osaavat. Welcome to Japanese Club! In the Japanese Club you will learn Japanese language and culture through sings, plays and other fun exercises. The club has a friend school in Japan and the children have some mail exchanges together. Come and join us!

Textile Work Club 4 th to 6 th graders Come join us as we make fun projects by using recycled fabrics and clothes. Please, bring used jeans and T- shirts, if you have any. Magic Club new tricks! 1 st -6 th graders Taikuutta ja taikatemppuja! Taikurikerhossa opit esiintymistaitoa ja monia erilaisia taikatemppuja. Kerhossa opitaan uusia temppuja - kaikki uudet ja vanhat taikurioppilaat ovat tervetulleita! Opettajana toimii taikurimestari Maarit Tiilikainen. In China-Club you learn basic Chinese through games, plays and other fun exercises. Technology Club 5 th and 6 th graders Fancy being part of a team and creating a vehicle? Forget Formula One... This year in Tech Club, small teams will be coming up with a design for their downhill go karts before building them. Together in your group you can create your seating, colour scheme and overall styling. How can you make it go faster? How to apply the brakes? And most importantly, how to look better than the rest!
