Contact one of the Directors at the Y to find out more about our Annual Campaign. heritage Club: How can you assure the future of the Y s service to the community? The Heritage Club is a group of individuals who believe in the mission of the Y and have chosen to remember the Montecito Y with a planned gift from their estate or a current gift to the Y s endowment fund. We are grateful that you believe in the difference that the Y can make in someone s life. Members are honored each year at the annual Heritage Club luncheon. SPLASH WEEK: Spring break finds the Y at Ortega Pool providing low-to no-cost swim lessons to hundreds of children. Every child that learns to swim has learned a skill that will serve them for life. THIRD GRADE LEARN TO SWIM PROGRAM: Did you know that the Montecito Y offers free swim lessons to every third grader at Cleveland and Franklin Elementary School? This wonderful partnership between the Y and Easy Lift transportation is changing and saving children s lives. 11

12 Help make a difference THE ANNUAL MONTECITO FAMILY YMCA GOLF TOURNAMENT SAVE THE DATE: FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2014 This year our annual golf tournament will take place at the Glen Annie Golf Club. The proceeds from this charitable event will go towards our Open Doors Scholarship Program which provides financial assistance to individuals and families who may not otherwise be able to afford YMCA programs such as youth camps, youth sports or activities, and senior and adult wellness programs. Other activities planned for the day include a hole-in-one contest, children s putting contest, music and raffle prizes. There will be a BBQ reception and a silent auction following the tournament. Make sure to sign up early, the deadline to register is Friday, October 17, The fee to play is $175 per player. Registration is available for individuals or foursomes; interested parties are asked to contact Aaron.Martinez@ciymca.org to play, join as a sponsor or to volunteer. Registration begins at 11:00am, tournament shotgun start is at 12 noon. volunteerism The Y first served Santa Barbara in 1887, and has been meeting the area s changing needs ever since. Success and growth of the Y movement is simple: Local volunteer leaders identify needs and provide value-based programs to the community they serve. Volunteers serve in many ways on the board of managers, program committees, helping out in the preschool, coaching youth sports or swim team or simply gathering together to serve. Join us by lending a helping hand to create a better community. Contact us at to find out about volunteer opportunities.
