3 From the Paul Burton Manager s Desk 2014 & beyond at rsl club southport On behalf of the Board of Directors, Management & Staff, I thank you for your continued support of RSL Club Southport. We are truly excited about the prospects of the Club and district during the next 3 to 5 years and beyond. The opening of the Light Rail (June 2014), China Town Precinct, Gold Coast Aquatic Centre all coming into play in 2014 together with the Priority Development Area and Interim Land Use Plan for Southport all point in a positive direction for the true CBD of the Gold Coast. Here at RSL Club Southport we are at the epicentre of all the activity. On 25th of April we ll be celebrating ANZAC Day, a special day, when we all remember the contributions of our brave service men and women. Come and support those past and present, we would love you to be part of the day s proceedings. For details of the days events please turn to page 15. The 1 Million Rewards Points Giveaway together with our Draws, Gaming Promotions, Monster and Free Entertainment continue this quarter along with our brand new Fusion Friday s to help kick off your weekend, see our back page for more details. RSL Club Southport, where there is always something happening! During March our fantastic Head Chef James also introduced a brand new tantalizing menu sure to please everyone s taste buds along with some fantastic new specials for this quarter! Box Office Entertainment continues to unveil new artists/acts, never before seen at our venue, together with the classics. We have artists to suit all genre s, including Damien Leith, The Eagels Band, Jimeoin, Faulty Towers, Mitchell Coombes, Jon Stevens, The Gatsby Experience, the Sounds of the Supremes and much more. Continue to watch this space! This quarter will also see the continual upgrade of our Gaming Installation, for your entertainment pleasure. The recent introduction of CARD IT at the Club has proved extremely popular with both members and guests. For the 12 months ended 31 December 2013 a total of $15,399, was paid to members and guests from our gaming installation. On average this equates to $1,283,273 per month!! Come and try your luck!
