2 Food for Life Catering Mark Our menu, April to October 2015 offers freshly prepared meals with a salad selection and a choice of drinks plus a tempting pudding, or the option of a homemade tray bake and fruit. We offer lots of the old favourites and some exciting new editions; including our extremely popular roast on a Wednesday and Fab Fish Friday. Does your child have a special dietary requirement or food allergy? Please discuss with your Catering Supervisor who will be happy to plan and provide a school meal that meets your child s needs. Why not take a fresh look at the exciting new menu and join us for a meal; our catering team are happy to help. What is the Food for Life Catering Mark? The Food for Life Catering Mark is a unique way to gain independent endorsement for serving fresh food you can trust. It s a guarantee from the Soil Association that our menus are: Seasonal Organic Sustainable Free Range Local Traceable Healthy Our Silver Award Our Silver Accreditation assures food is organic. In addition we require a high level of animal welfare, produce healthier menus and use more local ingredients. All our fresh meat is Red Tractor accredited which helps to support local farming communities. We are proud to add that over 64% of our produce we use in our menus is British and over 24% is purchased locally.

Income Related Employment and Support Allowance. Child Tax Credit but not Working Tax Credit and the household income is not more than 16,190. Please note anyone receiving Working Tax Credit, regardless of Income, will not qualify. The Guarantee element of State Pension Credit. Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act Universal Credit. ARE YOU AWARE that every child in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 in your school will be entitled to a free school lunch? EVIDENCE shows that learning performance in class is improved where children have eaten a nutritious school lunch and that they are more likely to eat vegetables with this meal. Only one in ten packed lunches meet the Government nutritional guidelines which all school meals have to adhere to. PARENTS can spend up to 400 for school lunches for each child every year. The Government want to do all they can to help ease the pressure on household budgets, and offering free school meals can help put money back in the pocket of many families.
