Line managing a team of 3, the SMM will lead on the implementation of the marketing plan and the development of promotional, sales and recruitment operations and budget. Working as part of a global team, the SMM is expected to be able to develop effective business relationships and opportunities, and to implement sales and marketing strategies that will achieve agreed targets. As part of this, the SMM is expected to undertake 5-8 weeks of international travel per year. The SMM has additional responsibility for staff training, liaison with the partner university and product development. The SMM is expected to be able to develop effective business relationships and opportunities, both in the UK and offshore and to implement sales and marketing strategies that will achieve agreed targets. The SMM is expected to work as part of the Admissions and Marketing team as well as collaborate closely with the Student Services Team and the University s admissions and recruitment staff. The SMM will also be responsible for the management, mentoring and training of the Marketing Team, particularly with respect to Tier 4 compliance regulations and the QAA s Code of Practice as well as guiding their activities in selected markets across the globe. Computer skills Must be adept in use of MS Office 2007 or later, particularly Excel and Word, and ideally Access or similar database to basic level, Internet and email. Literacy and Numeracy Able to understand profit and loss calculations and basic business finance, e.g., gross margin percentages and calculations, depreciation, capital and revenue expenditure, cash-flow, overheads, etc. and must be a very competent writer of business letters, quotations and proposals.
