Senior Marketing Manager (SMM) Salary Range: 41,000-50,000 per annum Bonus Scheme - EVA 10% of fixed salary International College Portsmouth (ICP) Permanent Full Time Navitas is a diversified global education provider that offers an extensive range of educational services for students and professionals including university programs, language training, workforce education and student recruitment. The SMM drives the marketing process and assists with the admissions activities of the College to which they are attached as part of a cross-functional team. Line managing a team of 3, the SMM will lead on the implementation of the marketing plan and the development of promotional, sales and recruitment operations and budget. Working as part of a global team, the SMM is expected to be able to develop effective business relationships and opportunities, and to implement sales and marketing strategies that will achieve agreed targets. As part of this, the SMM is expected to undertake 5-8 weeks of international travel per year. The SMM has additional responsibility for staff training, liaison with the partner university and product development. The SMM is expected to be able to develop effective business relationships and opportunities, both in the UK and offshore and to implement sales and marketing strategies that will achieve agreed targets. The SMM is expected to work as part of the Admissions and Marketing team as well as collaborate closely with the Student Services Team and the University s admissions and recruitment staff. The SMM will also be responsible for the management, mentoring and training of the Marketing Team, particularly with respect to Tier 4 compliance regulations and the QAA s Code of Practice as well as guiding their activities in selected markets across the globe. Personal Traits Working in a high energy environment with extremely motivated people, this role has a recruitment focus and the Senior Marketing Manager needs to be a highly motivated, teamorientated person capable of adding value to the College based Marketing team as well as to the Corporate Marketing plan. Personality The SMM must be self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business profit. A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance. Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with senior company executives. The SMM will be reliable, tolerant, and determined; an empathic communicator, able to see things from the other person's point of view; well-presented and businesslike; sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel up to two/three weeks at a time within the UK and overseas; keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability and importantly be able to get on with others and be a team-player. Personal Situation Must be able to spend time away from home; able to commute reliably to office base and work extended hours on occasions when required. Specific Job Skills Able to communicate and motivate via written media; understands the principles of marketing and advertising cost-effectiveness, including market sector targeting, product offer development, features-benefits-solutions selling, cost per response, cost per conversion, etc. Appreciates need for consistency within company's branding and marketing mix, especially PR and the Internet. Computer skills Must be adept in use of MS Office 2007 or later, particularly Excel and Word, and ideally Access or similar database to basic level, Internet and email. Literacy and Numeracy Able to understand profit and loss calculations and basic business finance, e.g., gross margin percentages and calculations, depreciation, capital and revenue expenditure, cash-flow, overheads, etc. and must be a very competent writer of business letters, quotations and proposals. Business and Selling Skills Must be an excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator who is able to demonstrate success and experience managing major accounts customers, large contracts or even a business, particularly achieving genuine sales development. Ideal background would be in services industry. Management Ability Superior people-management skills, experience and natural ability will be critical.
