On course to support the Houston community and we need your support, too! Fluor Corporation invites you to become a sponsor for our annual Golf for Greater Houston Charity Event, benefitting Pecan Grove Fire Station, Lunches of Love, USO and LifeHouse Houston. An exciting series of events, listed below, will be held Sunday, March 22 through Tuesday March 24, 2015. In 2014, Golf for Greater Houston raised $323,000 for Camp Victory, Lunches of Love, His Grace Foundation, Texas Center for the Missing and Texas Sentinels Foundation, an accomplishment made possible by our generous sponsors and dedicated volunteers. Our goal for this year's event is to exceed last year's results and we need your help. Fluor Corporation is proud to support this event and the Houston community. Your sponsorship will help provide subdivisions with protection, hungry children with meals, U.S. veterans with support and young, low income women with parenthood assistance. Enclosed please find more information on the event and its sponsorship levels. To learn more about Golf for Greater Houston or our beneficiaries, please visit www.golfforgreaterhouston.org. Thank you for your consideration, and we look forward to seeing you at our 2015 event! About the Beneficiaries Pecan Grove Volunteer Fire Department is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides emergency services, both fire and emergency medical for the Pecan Grove, Waterside and Plantation Place subdivisions located in Fort Bend County. We are a non-profit department that survives solely on voluntary donations from the community. We receive no tax funding. We strive to offer excellent service by acting with integrity, developing trust and creating a safe place to live, work and play. Lunches of Love (LoL) began as a ministry of First United Methodist Church, Rosenberg during Christmas break 2009 and fed approximately 150 children. LoL feeds children in need and those qualifying for the state's free or reduced lunch program.in 2012, LoL became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is now feeding 2,500+ children. The organization has expanded its program to include 12 elementary schools and has launched a second host site at SJUMC in Richmond. LoL's vision for the future is to sustain our current program while expanding to include additional Title 1 schools. We are committed to helping end childhood hunger among these innocent children.
About the Beneficiaries For more than 73 years, the USO has worked side by side with the U.S. military; we are intricately woven into the fabric of the daily lives of our troops and their families. Our ability to work so closely with the military enables us to understand and ease the hardships of our service members and their families and fill gaps remaining after military and government support. No other organization can do that. The USO operates at more than 160 locations worldwide that host more than 8 million visits from troops and their families annually. The USO is committed to providing best-in-class programs and services to help troops and their families lead strong, healthy, resilient lives today and in the future. The USO s five critical areas of support include; forward-deploys troops, military families, wounded, ill and injured troops, their families and caregivers, troops in transition and families of the fallen. USO Houston provides this critical support to over 50,000 troops and military families annually at its two centers and throughout Greater Houston and the upper Texas Gulf Coast to more than 5,000 additional Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen and their families. LifeHouse provides housing, healing, and hope to girls as young as 12 who are experiencing the challenge of an unplanned pregnancy. In addition to an outreach program for non-residential pregnant girls, we operate two maternity homes, from which we care for the physical and emotional needs of young girls during their pregnancies and after they give birth. LifeHouse is one of only four organizations in all of Texas that is licensed to provide housing for pregnant minors under the age of 18 (the others are in North Texas, Austin, and San Antonio). We began housing pregnant girls 26 years ago, first opening our doors in 1988. Most of our residents come from low-income, under-served populations. We provide a safe haven for them in a family home setting, as well as prenatal healthcare, professional counseling, loving support, life skills training, and continued education or job skills training so that these girls are better prepared for their future, whether they opt to single parent or parent through adoption. Although we can provide thousands of bed nights to pregnant girls, our work is not just about providing a safe place to sleep. When a girl arrives at LifeHouse, she is already in crisis. Our immersive program cares for a girl's physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. We give our residents new tools and skills so they can change their lives.
