Position Purpose The purpose of this position is to provide strategic leadership and management in the implementation and delivery of comprehensive Primary Health Care services within Mamu Health Service Limited and strategic initiatives related to models of primary health care and associated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander primary health care programs. This position is also responsible for business planning, administration and financial management. Travelling throughout the geographic service area of Mamu Health Service Limited is a requirement of this position. Position Duties Performance Area Responsibility/Task Primary Health Care Ensure the achievement of strategic objectives within budget for health service delivery Lead the planning, implementation and evaluation of quality, comprehensive primary health care and treatment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people Lead a multi-disciplinary team of professionals in the delivery of health services that are planned, targeted and responsive to community needs Responsible for ensuring effective integration of clinical activity with community engagement to achieve culturally appropriate and preventative focused Primary Health Care within Mamu Health Service Limited geographic area Ensure primary health care services maximise Medicare billings to meet financial targets Ensure high quality health promotion and health education to clients and development of culturally acceptable resources and program activities Foster the development and maintenance of a continuous quality improvement workplace Ensure Mamu HSL s AGPAL accreditation status is maintained across all clinic locations

Policy & Planning Strategic Development, Planning & Reporting Develop and submit to CEO an annual unit plan that: a) Efficiently and effectively manages the delivery health services that are responsive and receptive to the needs of the community b) Efficiently and effectively manages the delivery of contracted health service program objectives of federal and state government funding authorities Support good governance decision making through the provision of timely and accurate advice, information and reporting Provide expert advice to the CEO to ensure Mamu Health Service Limited meets its accountability, compliance and governance requirements Use appropriate engagement and communication approaches consistent with agreed organisation, operational and local governance processes Ensure the organisation meets objectives of Strategic/Business Plan, yearly Action Plan Ensure the Health Unit meets objectives and targets of locationbased Clinic Plans Ensure that Mamu Health Service Limited provides priority to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people at all times as per funding agreement requirements with the Department of Health As a member of the Senior Management Team, contribute to strategic planning and development processes within the organisation As a member of the Clinical Governance Team, make recommendation for improvements in line with clinical practice and standards to achieve health outcomes for the client population Work with CEO to ensure the development of the strategic plan and annual business plan

Ensure the functionality of the patient information management system for the collection, retrieval and analysis of data to support effective decision making Provide the CEO monthly reports and analysis of Mamu s health data containing, where required, recommended actions in relation to trends and issues of the client population and Medicare revenue generating practices Prepare evidence-based business cases to support major initiatives, changes or to address identified and/or emerging needs in the community Assist in funding submission preparation Report against agreed indicators and ensure compliance with reporting requirements to enable ongoing and increased funding for services Administration Collect relevant data from Patient Information Recall System and other sources to assist in the planning and delivery of services to the community Assist in maintaining the PIRS (patient information recall system) Communicare in accordance with organisational requirements and standards Keep accurate, current statistics and other client records and files on Patient Information Recall System - Communicare Prepare written monthly reports for line manager To ensure culturally appropriate resources are available for stakeholders Assist with grant writing and funding proposals when required Develop and maintain own workplan in line with position description and organisational objectives

What is the Selection Panel? One of the objectives of Mamu Health Service is to support the objectives of ensuring that appointments are based firmly on the principles of equity and merit. Selection Panels should comprise of at least three (3) members. One member, in addition to chairing the Panel, should represent the profession or service in line with the advertised position. Further representation should be to ensure equity and impartiality of the process. A Panel will undertake the selection process. Each Selection Panel will be convened with care to ensure that it has the necessary expertise to make a sound decision in a fair and impartial way.
