MAINTENANCE BUILDING AND GROUNDS COMMITTEE Valley Lutheran School has been very blessed with a Lawn Mowing Crew, with Jerry Walter as the lead, but we need more help. There is trimming that needs to be done, lights to be changed, ceiling tiles to replace, faucets that need to be replaced, etc. Eric Schmitz (school parent and board member) would like to start a Maintenance and Grounds Committee at Valley. This would be in addition to/including the Lawn Mowing Crew. Eric is looking for hard working individuals to complete the work that needs to be completed at Valley. Not only does the committee need hard working individuals, the committee also needs those that have experience in maintenance and grounds to guide the committee in the right direction. Eric will be holding a meeting Monday, May 11 at 6:00 P.M. at Valley Lutheran in the Conference Room. The topic of discussion will be what the strengths are of each individual in attendance, discussing the tasks that need to be completed at the school and developing a plan to complete the work discussed. If you are a parent, grandparent or friend of Valley Lutheran and would like to be part of keeping the school looking amazing on the inside and outside, please come to the meeting Monday, May 11 at 6:00 P.M. in the Board Room. If you would like to be involved, but cannot attend the meeting, please call Eric Schmitz at 319-404-0262. HY-VEE RECIEPT TOTALS The GRAND TOTAL is in for Hy-Vee receipts!! Valleys supporters brought in a total of $440,934.46!!! That is $23,099.09 more then last year. This total will give the school $2204.67! Valley has to thank all those that saved up their receipts and brought them in. A special thank you to Becky Decker for all her work on this. Thank you to Bruce Decker, Kassidy Dunbar, Holly Rich, Jody Dunbar, Jacob Donaldson, Colton Ott, Haley Clark, and Shanda Knight for helping her in sorting and counting the receipts up! What a blessing! You can start saving receipts once again starting with a June 1, 2015 date. Page 4
