JOB QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a clear passion for accounting and business education, a deep understanding of and connection to the accounting profession, and a collaborative leadership style. Successful candidates are expected to have a demonstrated understanding of higher education, business education and pedagogy, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Professional certification (CPA, CMA, CIA), experience with AACSB accreditation standards, and relevant professional work experience in accounting are preferred. The successful candidate should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and have experience in working with multiple stakeholders (students, faculty, staff, alumni, recruiters, and administration) in a dynamic environment. Academically qualified candidates should possess a record of teaching and scholarship that qualify the candidate for the rank of associate or full professor with tenure. Professionally qualified applicants should have exceptional business experience that qualifies the candidate for our Professor of Practice or Teaching Professor track.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Associate Dean for Accountancy will be expected to: lead our accounting programs consistent with our school-wide guiding framework that emphasizes holistic, professional education; act as the chair of the accounting area and lead our accounting faculty group in a collaborative way that enhances the development and performance of the group; collaborate with our Accounting Advisory Council, alumni and hiring firms to enhance the effectiveness of our partnerships with them; partner with our advancement colleagues to secure external resources (gifts and grants) to support our accounting programs; collaborate with the school s administration to pursue school-wide initiatives; teach and conduct research in accounting or a related area; and ensure that the accountancy program continues to meet the AACSB Accounting Accreditation Standards and our key performance indicators (KPIs). With a focus on educating the whole person, our faculty members actively engage our students in their growth as emerging professionals, facilitating their acquisition of deep conceptual knowledge while helping them attain a broad set of professional competencies and develop a clear sense of professional identity and character. We seek colleagues who subscribe to this holistic education of our students, are willing to serve as exemplary role-models, and are committed to developing courses that span all three of these areas of student development. ACCOUNTANCY PROGRAMS: The Wake Forest Business School offers two accounting programs: an undergraduate major in Accounting and a graduate Master of Science in Accounting (MSA). Virtually, all undergraduate accounting students enter the MSA program and all MSA graduates are fully employed by graduation. Our MSA program currently enrolls 150 students every fall and we plan to increase the size of the incoming class to 180 by Fall 2015. The Wake Forest accounting programs have earned a reputation for producing high quality students, that are highly sought after by the best employers in both public accounting and industry.
