Duty Manager Recreation Assistants Leigh Indoor Sports Centre Team members in this and other teams across the Trust. Internal departments, external companies, schools and colleges. nhanced JOB PURPOS 1. To ensure to the satisfaction of the Duty Manager the safe and efficient day to day operation of sports and leisure facilities through efficient and effective use of staffing resources and compliance with operational procedures. 2. To provide support to the Duty Manager and to provide necessary cover during periods of absence. MAIN DUTIS AND RSPONSIBILITIS 1. To draw up and ensure staff compliance with approved rotas in order to meet the criteria in 1.1. 2. To supervise the operation of the site and ensure safe practices. 3. To ensure Recreation Assistants, etc. are working in accordance with safe working practices as approved under the policies of the Active Life. 4. If appropriate, to assist with plant duties as required and ensure all appropriate records are regularly updated. 5. To ensure that all staff are aware of what is expected of them and to bring to the attention of the Duty Manager all operational and staffing difficulties.
6. To be responsible for Health and Safety within the Centre of all staff and customers as defined in the Safety Policy. 7. The safety and control of customers, giving due regard to the Code of Conduct for customers and visitors. 8. To assist in the production of work programmes and the allocation of tasks to Recreation Assistants. 9. To provide assistance to customers seeking information and advice about activities. 10. To deal with customer complaints and queries. 11. To be accountable for stock and equipment as determined by the Duty Manager, e.g. check deliveries, stock control, etc. 12. To be responsible to the Duty Manager for security of the building. To report any breaches of conduct/safety to the Duty Manager. 13. To give assistance as required and to ensure the safe and efficient operation and control of special events/functions. 14. To complete reports, records and to undertake routine administrative duties as required. 15. To attend to accidental injuries and incidents, including the summoning of Police and mergency Services as necessary and the completion of incident reports. 16. To undertake any other Recreation Assistant duties as and when required. 17. To promote the Trust s qual Opportunities policy in terms of employment and service delivery. GNRAL INFORMATION 1. The above requirements of the job are intended as a basic outline. There will be other tasks related to ensuring customer satisfaction, care and safety, and the Duty Supervisor will be expected to adopt a flexible and helpful approach. 2. As Duty Supervisor you will be a Team Leader and as such you will be expected to set an example of a high standard of personal conduct and commitment to staff care and customer service at all levels within the Active Life Services. In addition to these responsibilities and tasks, the Duty Supervisor will be expected to conform to the Codes of Conduct for all Active Life Services staff and will be expected to comply with the Trust s procedures, policies and processes.
