1 UNIVRSITY OF LINCOLN JOB DSCRIPTION JOB TITL DPARTMNT LOCATION Cloud based Development and Cyber Security KTP Associate Research and nterprise Brayford JOB NUMBR L1108 GRAD 21,500 DAT November 2015 RPORTS TO Lincoln Security manager CONTXT The post has been created as a result of an exciting and innovative Knowledge Transfer Partnership ( between Lincoln Security Ltd ( and the School of Computer Science in the College Science at the University of Lincoln ( Lincoln Security are leading provider of quality commercial and domestic security solutions across a wide range of industries delivering the highest standards of service. The company has a UK-wide team of installation engineers providing resilient, customised security solutions and products to Utility companies and other large organisations but at the same time, offer a 24hr locksmith services to local businesses and domestic clients. The Cloud based Development and Cyber Security role for the Knowledge Transfer Partnership will drive and lead a project to develop a cloud based software system to be used in the electromechanical lock industry. The KTP Associate will be employed by the University of Lincoln for 2 years but be based at the head office of Lincoln Security Ltd in Lincoln and subject to its employment practices and conditions of work. The successful candidate will be supervised both by Lincoln Security Ltd and the College of Science at the University of Lincoln. Page 1 of 5

2 JOB PURPOS To take appropriate measures to ensure cyber-security and the protection of personal data related to the cloud based software eco systems. To work on secure application development for Microsoft Azure cloud, Windows Desktop and Android Mobile Operating Systems. To provide updates and maintenance for Cloud based solution ensuring full system availability for clients during this process. To undertake security audit of existing cloud and desktop applications and contribute to enhancing the security of existing software infrastructure to ensure best security practices. To contribute to research and development activities that result in cloud based software eco system for Lincoln Security s electromechanical locking solution. Page 2 of 5

3 KY RSPONSIBILITIS Research and Development of Software Conduct extensive research on existing security techniques for cloud based development and apply the research in the software development process. Testing and deployment Penetration testing - testing the security features of existing and any new developed system to ensure that the software meets current industry standard for cloud software security. nsure software will be compatible with all popular web-browsers and Windows versions. New product development Development of required applications and support software infrastructure for Cloud, such as Desktop and Mobile Operating Systems. New products will require Android APP development and possibly other APPs at a future point. Data analytics and reporting Assist in the development of data analytics packages for the cloud software and the establishment of the server infrastructure for real time reporting. In addition to the above, undertake such duties as may reasonably be requested and that are commensurate with the nature and grade of the post. Page 3 of 5
