Responsibility for day to day planning of the Academy s business and support services, including finance. 2. Responsibility for local finance, estate, and Health and Safety management. Key responsibilities: Finance and Business: Estate: 1. To implement the financial decisions of the Principal, the Academy s Governing Body and the Hastings Academies Trust (HAT). 2. To maximise income generation within the ethos of the Academy. 3. To create a detailed budget for the Academy in conjunction with the Principal and HAT. 4. To use financial management information especially benchmarking tools to identify areas of relative spend, assess trends, and advise the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) accordingly. 5. To monitor and control income and expenditure in relation to the academy s budgets (including the CPD budget). 6. To assist in the preparation of all financial returns for all central and local government agencies within statutory deadlines. 7. To negotiate, manage and monitor contracts, tenders and agreements for the provision of support services. 8. To manage the Academy s Asset Register. 9. To liaise with local business for fundraising and joint projects 1. To ensure all premises and site decisions are implemented with the Site Manager. 2. To ensure all maintenance schedules are prepared and followed, ensuring the efficient operation of all facilities on the property. 3. To lead the planning and implementation on site of new capital and refurbishment projects. 4. To ensure all contracts are maintained to the highest quality and provide the academy with value for money with the Site Manager. 5. To maximise the use of facilities in order to generate income and manage the letting of Academy premises to external organisations. Health and Safety: 1. To be responsible for the Health and Safety issues, and how they relate to pupils, staff, visitors and contractors. 2. To provide and document effective Risk Management procedures in relation to all staff, pupils and third party service contractors. 3. To advise the Governing Body s Resources Committee. Organisation/ Administration: 1. To assist with planning, development, design, organisation and monitoring of support services and whole school systems, policies and procedures. 2. To attend SLT and other meetings when required. 3. To be responsible and accountable for costing of the one year School Improvement Plan and the three year Strategic Improvement Plan.
