Stroud Junior Triathlon supported by: Dear Competitor & Parents, Event Instructions, Directions, Registration Process, Course Details & Rules Race Description We are holding the event on Sunday 22 nd June 2014 at Archway School, Stroud, Gloucestershire, GL5 4AX. Facilities The event will be held in the School grounds that are fenced and secure. Registration will be signposted from the car park so ensure you bring all your race equipment and clothing, valuables can be left at registration. Triathlon Shop Chip Timing First Aid Race numbers Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Male & Female in each age group Marshals & First Aid Neutral event support from Cytek Cycles Spectators Spectators are very welcome, we have designed the course so you can see the competitors in transition, on the run and bike course. No spectators are allowed in Transition or the Pool area. Route to start We have access to the large car park, there is a short walk to the registration area that is clearly marked. Follow yellow Rogue Racer signs to the event.
Event Layout & Car Parking
Registration Process Registration is open from 11-1230hrs. Ensure you register promptly and bring your BTF Card. Your arms and legs will be marked with your race number. You will receive your race pack including: Race numbers and pins to be pinned to the front of your shirt or attached to a race belt. RFID Chip Timing Tag to be secured to your left ankle to be returned at finish. Race number stickers for your bike and helmet. Then rack your bikes and layout your transition area (competitors only no adults allowed, there will be marshals on hand to assist smaller children to rack their bikes). You will not be allowed in or out of transition without a race number on your bike that corresponds to your number, only competitors allowed in Transition. You may check your valuables with Registration in a bag we will provide a label. Bring cash for hot/cold food and drinks. We will provide a drink station and drinking water.
Course Overview
Compulsory race briefing for all at 1230hrs Rules: See BTF race rules. No drafting on bike Serviceable bikes only with working brakes (note this is a grass circuit) Bar ends on handle bars Helmets compulsory No head phones or personal music devices allowed during the race Keep on left of track during run and bike, only overtake on the right Obey all marshal instructions Yellow arrows will direct the courses. RACE START 1300hrs Race wave timings will be confirmed nearer the event. TriStart will start first at 1300hrs report to poolside 10mins before start time for briefing. Last wave is expected to start at 1400hrs Race Distances: The British Triathlon Federation governs the sport and the junior events are run to the following guidelines for different age groups. The number of laps are also indicated. Ages are at 31 Dec 2014. Transition Layout Transition Detail: No bikes out of Transition until the final wave is on the run.
Course Layout Swim Indoor 20m pool with 4 lanes. Entry via changing rooms. No spectators in pool area. Hats are not compulsory. Wave start by age group, may have more than one swimmer per lane. Lane swim direction will alternate between lanes and will be signed. Competitors are responsible for counting their own lengths.
Bike Course The bike course is 800m, competitors will complete the appropriate number of laps for their age group. Competitors are responsible for counting their laps. Helmet MUST be secured before you touch your bike. The course is well marked follow signs Obey instructions from marshals Keep left unless overtaking No drafting

Prize Giving All finishers will receive a medal Winners in each age category will receive a prize: 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd Male & Female Prize giving will be held near Registration as soon as the last wave finishes. If you do not attend you will not receive your prize. Results We will provide finish positions at the end of the race. Your race times and splits will be posted live at my.raceresult.com. All competitors can download and print a race certificate from the website.
