Eligibility & Registration 2.1 Competitors must possess minimum 1 Star Personal Kayaking Skills Certification for entry of races of all types of boats in the race. 2.2 All minors under the age of 16 years to have endorsed consent of parental or guardian. 2 4. Format of race 4.1 For this edition of Canoe Marathon at the 2016 Singapore National Games, the competitor races over designated 5km course on water not subject to prescribed standards. The competitor must take the water as it is found and look out for other users, motorised or non-motorised, in the race. 4.2 The race route is one lap of 5km for all categories, with the start / finish line at the Marina Bay. 4.3 Provisional Route is as follows: Singapore National Games 2016 Canoe Marathon Page 2

Entry of Canoe Sprint Race 5.1 Successful entry of Competitor will be notified. 5.2 Unsuccessful entries will be placed on waiting list. 5.3 Limited number of Canoe Sprint Boats will be provided. 5.4 Prior race experience of Competitor will be considered in view of limited number of boats provided by the Singapore National Games. Please provide race experience in Canoe Sprint boats when requested. 5.5 Competitor are to provide their own racing paddles, personal floatation device and knee pads where applicable. 5.6 The boats provided will meet the following specifications: 6. Entry of Recreational Closed deck singles race and Sit on top double race 6.1 Successful entry of Competitor will be notified. 6.2 Unsuccessful entries will be placed on waiting list. 6.3 Limited number of recreational closed deck K1, sit on top double K2, paddles and personal floatation devices will be provided to the participants. Event Rules and Regulations 7.1 All Competitor must report and register in person 60 minutes before the start of their race. 7.2 Competitor who do not report 60 minutes before the start of race will be deemed as withdrawn from the race. 7.3 Competitor must attend a pre-race briefing. The date, venue and time of briefing will be advised. 7.4 Competitor are to put on personal floatation device at all times prior to launch of boats until departure of the launch pontoon after race. 7.5 All boats must have a number plate / identification device as identification. 7.6 All Competitors must put on their number bib at their back as their identification. 7.7 The cut-off timing of race is 60 minutes after the start of each race. Participants who are not able to complete the race after 60 minutes will be notified to return to launch area. 7.8 No parking facility is available for Competitors at the venue. Please use public transport to the venue or park at parking facility nearby. 7.9 There will be no refund for cancellation of race due to bad weather or external factors beyond the control of organiser Competitors agree to the rules and regulations of the Canoe Marathon 5km Race. 8. Prize Money and Medals 8.1 Prize monies to be awarded to the top 3 position of each events with at least 4 entries. 8.2 Athletes in the Top 3 positions will receive a medal each. 8.3 No prize monies will be awarded for events below 4 entries. For events below 4 entries, only medals will be awarded. 8.4 If there are only 3 entries for the event, using the minus 1 rule, only Gold and Silver will be awarded with no prize money. 8.5 If there are less than 4 teams: Option 1 Participants can withdraw and receive a full refund Option 2 Participants can continue with the competition but will not be eligible for prize money and medals will be awarded based on the minus 1 rule. Option 3 Participants may opt to join another category which they are eligible, subject to availability of equipment. 8.6 Details of Prize Money will be publish on SNG 2016 official website. 5 9. Matters not covered in rules 9.1 For matters not covered by the rules and regulations, the decision of the Singapore National Games Organising Committee is final.
