1 Dear Parents and Dancers, Joffrey South Orientation and Arrival Information With summer fast approaching, we hope you are becoming as excited as we are with anticipation of our summer intensives. In preparation for the program we have prepared this orientation and arrival packet for your review. It is chock full of information regarding arrival, on site orientation, parking directions, staff contact information, performance details and so forth. Orientation and Arrival Orientation and arrival times depend on whether or not you will be staying in our housing facilities. Please see the end of this packet for the campus map and VERY important directions regarding parking for pickup and drop off of students on campus for commuter students. All students will attend orientation at the Marine Science/Dance Building in Studio 272. Program Orientation is on Mondays at 8:00 AM. The Marine Science/Dance Building is located on 325 Sanford Drive, Athens, GA Parking (South Deck) can be found right next to the Marine Science/Dance Building. More detailed driving directions from ATL Airport/ AHN Airport can be found at the end of the packet along with a campus map. Dormitory Arrivals and General Information If you are staying at Joffrey Housing on campus in CHURCH HALL, you will attend a mandatory orientation for the housing facilities on Sunday evening at 7PM after you check in. Check- In is every Sunday from 12 4 PM, and check- out will be on Saturdays from 9 AM to 12 PM. The address for Church Hall is 880 Lumpkin Street, Athens, GA Parking can be found right in front of Church Hall for parents to park when checking in and checking out students. Airport Transportation Joffrey Ballet School does not provide transportation from the airport. Please access the arrange a airport shuttle with Groome Transportation. It will be a direct shuttle from ATL airport to the Georgia Center. Drop off is at the Georgia Center on Lumpkin St. with a 3-5 minute walking distance to Church Hall. Please click on the provided links for more information ( Schedules and Class Assignment Your class assignment and schedules will be handed out at orientation. Class start times are staggered. If you are commuting you can expect that your first class will start between 8:30 and 10:00 in the morning. Schedules will be posted for the upcoming week at the dormitory each weekend. Schedules will also be sent via e- mail and posted on Joffrey Ballet School s website for the upcoming week during the weekend prior to the upcoming week.

2 Studio Locations (A campus map and parking instructions can be found at the end of the packet. The Joffrey South GA program is hosted by University of Georgia- Athens (UGA). Included in this packet is a campus map with all the buildings that house our studios and our dormitory identified by red circles. Our studios, Studio 272, 274, 269, are located in Marine Science/Dance Building. More detailed driving directions from ATL Airport/ AHN Airport can be found at the end of the packet along with a campus map. Year- Round Trainee Program If you are interested in applying for the Year- Round Trainee Program you may do so at any time while attending the summer intensive. Please contact Jay and Jarvon at Jay, and Jarvon can answer any of your questions regarding this exciting professional training program as well as arrange for you to be observed for admission while taking class, question and answer sessions with the Artistic Director, tours of the facilities and the year- round dormitory (Grove Street), and facilitate your application for financial aid.

3 Dress Code and Merchandise The below dress code will be enforced and Joffrey uniforms must be worn in class with a student s nametag. Uniforms and Joffrey merchandise can be purchased from Tites Boutique at FEMALE: Ballet: Joffrey Black leotard, any pink tights and pink ballet slippers Other classes: Joffrey dance shorts or pants with a Joffrey fitted T- Shirt. MALE: Ballet: Black tights, Joffrey T- Shirt, white or black Other classes: Black tights or Joffrey Bike Shorts, Joffrey T- Shirt, white or black Male and Female students in the Joffrey Ballet School Summer Intensive must purchase the required uniform. Policies and Rules Tardiness to class will result in the student being asked to sit or leave the class at the instructor s discretion No street shoes are allowed in the studios. No food or drink is allowed in the studios. No gum chewing is allowed during class. No food or gum in any of the studios. Cell Phones must be turned off during class and stowed safely in your dance bag. Dance bags with valuables should be brought into the classroom and stored out of the way. The school is not responsible for belongings left in the locker rooms and other common areas. No warm- up clothes may be worn once class has begun. No jewelry is to be worn during class. All students must adhere to the Dress Code and wear their name tags. There will be a $5 charge to a second nametag. Students who arrive more than 10 minutes late to class will not be allowed to participate. If you are going to be late or absent from class, please call the office so we can notify the teacher. If you are late to class, you MUST check- in and notify the interns for attendance before entering class. We do not recommend that students under the age of 13 leave the building without a chaperone. Parents should meet their children in the school lobby. Tuition must be current or students will not be permitted to attend class.

5 Welcome, and have fun this summer! DRIVING, PARKING AND DROP OFF DIRECTIONS AT UGA From ATL Airport: Upon leaving the airport, take Interstate 85 North. Follow I- 85 to Georgia Highway 316 (Exit 106). Proceed east on GA 316 for approximately 40 miles until you see signs for Athens Perimeter (GA Loop 10). Important: Make sure not to exit at the exit for Bogart/Monroe at US Highway 78. Following the University of Georgia/Lexington/Hartwell sign at the junction of GA 316 and the Athens Perimeter (Loop 10), bear right onto the Athens Perimeter (Loop 10). Continuing on Athens Perimeter (Loop 10), proceed to and exit at College Station Road (Exit 7). Turn left onto College Station Road. From AHN Airport: Upon leaving the airport, turn left onto Winterville Road. Continue on Winterville Road until it ends at Lexington Road (US Highway 78). Turn right onto Lexington Road (US 78) and proceed three additional traffic lights. At the third traffic light, turn left onto the Athens Perimeter (GA Loop 10). Continue on the Athens Perimeter (Loop 10) to Exit 7 and exit onto College Station Road. Turn right onto College Station Road.
