Race marshals will tell you if you did not make it in time. KMD IRONMAN Copenhagen is timed with ChampionsChip. You will receive your personal timing chip at registration. Fasten it to your right ankle with a velcro strap before the swim, and leave it on until you finish the race. You may apply vaseline around your ankle to avoid chafing - this will not affect the chip of timing. If you lose your chip, seek advice with the first race marshal possible. You need your chip for timing and to get your bike, RED and BLUE bag out of T2. If you do not start, you still have to return the timing chip. This is done either in registration or at the swim start. 21

Award Ceremony & Kona Slot Allocation: Monday Aug The race is over and hopefully we have all had a bit of sleep. It is now time to celebrate our victories and the fastest men, women, age groupers and relay teams. Besides telling stories and sharing memories the winners will be celebrated and the Kona Slot Allocation will take place. KMD IRONMAN Copenhagen will award 50 Kona slots for the 2013 IRONMAN World Championship. Read more about allocation here. The entry fee for Hawaii 2013 is USD 775 and has to be paid during the Kona Slot Allocation in Copenhagen on August 19, 2013, in cash Euro or by Credit card (final assessment for Euro will be published in the race week). No checks are accepted. Please show valid picture ID. The Awards Ceremony and Kona Slot Allocation will be held at Building 55 (Bygning 55) right next to DGI Byen Hotel from Awards and age groups Competitors in KMD IRONMAN Copenhagen are divided in the following age groups according to year of birth: Professionals M/F 18 from 18 to 24 years M/F 25 from 25 to 29 years M/F 30 from 30 to 34 years M/F 35 from 35 to 39 years M/F 40 from 40 to 44 years M/F 45 from 45 to 49 years M/F 50 from 50 to 54 years M/F 55 from 55 to 59 years M/F 60 from 60 to 64 years M/F 65 from 65 to 69 years M/F 70 from 70 to 74 years M/F 75 from 75 years and older The first ten places for professional women and men are entitled to the following prize money: DKK DKK DKK DKK DKK DKK DKK DKK DKK DKK Relay teams will be awarded with the following: DKK DKK DKK 22

Relay teams Each relay team will register under the same conditions as the single starters. At registration the relay team will receive: 3 athlete wristband 2 start numbers 1 timing chip BLUE bike bag RED run bag WHITE after race bag 1 coloured swim cap 3 number stickers for the bike helmet 1 number sticker for the bike 3 number stickers for your BLUE, RED and WHITE bag Relay athletes act as single starters when racing. Therefore the same rules apply for relay teams as for single starters. It is only in the transition zones there will be a difference. Relay swimmers Put your after swim-clothes in the BLUE bike bag and deposit it at the bike rack with your race number. This is where you will hand over the timing chip to your teammate. Swim start is at As all other athletes, you have to be out of T1 before After swimming the 3.8 km, you will exit the water and enter T1. Here you shall pass all the way through the tent and head for the transition. Wear your swim cap all the way through, so the officials can recognise you as a relay starter and let you pass with your wetsuit on. After you have handed over your timing chip, you can change your clothes and your active part of the race is over. Relay cyclists After receiving the chip from your swimmer you will head for the bike mount line where you will begin the 180 km bike ride. You need to check-in your bike on Saturday, between and The bike must be placed at the bike rack with your race number where the transition from the swimmer to the cyclist will take place. Put your clothes into the RED run bag and place it at the designated Relay container. A vehicle will be there to transport it into the T2 area where you may pick it up after your race. In the race you need to comply with the same rules as the single starters. Please note that start numbers must be placed as if you were a single starter. When entering the T2 area you will head for the market place for relay teams. Here your runner will be waiting and after you have handed over the timing chip, your race is over. You may pick up your bag in the T2 area. 23

Relay runner Before the start, put your clothes in the WHITE post race bag and deposit it at the designated area in T2. The bag will then be transported to the finish line area, where you can pick it up after the race. After receiving the timing chip from your team cyclist you may begin the marathon. During the run, you need to comply with the same rules as the single starters. When entering the finish line your teammates may join you the last 200 meters. They have to join you before the fences start at Christiansborg Slotsplads. After crossing the finish line, you are all welcome in the Athlete s Garden where you can enjoy your team s performance. You will have to pick up you RED bag with your clothes in the Athlete s Garden. Mechanical and/or health issues during the relay In case of health or mechanical issues preventing you from completing your part of the relay, you are allowed to continue to your transition zone by outside assistance and hand over your timing chip to your relay teammate. You will not get a relay time- and place, but you will get the bike or marathon time. Race week training During race week the Copenhagen area will be crowded with triathletes training for the race. It is common to go by bike in Denmark, and you will for sure not be the only one. A few advice to get the best experience while staying here: Amager Strandpark is a public beach and you can swim there whenever you like. There will be kayaks and other small boats in the water, so wear a coloured swim cap so people can see you. If you prefer to swim in a pool we recommend Bellahøj Swim Stadium - this is where the Danish National Swim Team trains - it is located at: Bellahøj Brønshøj We can only recommend going on a bike ride in the Copenhagen area. Either you want to train on the bike course or see a bit of what else the area has to offer, please go ahead. The cars are used to people on bikes, but please obey the traffic rules, both in the city and outside. Always keep to the right and please ride single file. On most roads there will be a special bike lane, which shall be used in training. Remember to wear your helmet while training. When it is time to run you may enjoy the wonderful area at Amager Strandpark, the big green area, Amager Fælled, a trip around the famous Christiania or take a tour around the lakes in the middle of the city. If you need a place to go just ask around. Jogging and biking has become extremely popular activities among people in Copenhagen. 24

Lost and found We recommend that you mark your gear with your race number, as KMD IRONMAN Copenhagen is not responsible for your lost items. Lost and found items can be handed to race officials in the zones or on the course. They must be collected from the finish line area on Sunday August 18 or at the latest on Monday August 19, before 1.00 p.m. at the Awards Ceremony at DGI Byen Hotel. Lost items that have not been picked up at these times will be kept in the custody of KMD IRONMAN Copenhagen until Friday August 30 and can be returned by full payment of shipping costs and administration fee. After the August 30 lost and found items will be discarded. Transportation in Copenhagen We strongly advise all athletes and spectators to use public transportation in and around Copenhagen. Transportation from the Copenhagen airport is easily done by metro and it will take you to the city centre. You may walk from the station or use the wide service of buses. Find your way to travel at: If you need to go outside the city, the S-train, which covers the most of the Copenhagen area, will be at your service. More information at or To reach the official race hotel, DGI Byen Hotel, you have several options. Copenhagen Central station is just 100m away from DGI Byen Hotel. All S-trains, regional trains and most buses stop at Copenhagen Central Station. Use the Copenhagen Metro to reach Amager Strandpark. The Metro Station Amager Strand is nearby the swim start and can be reached with the M2 line. More information about the Metro please visit 25
