Coeliac Australia provides a framework for the states to work together, share resources and fulfil its vision - to enhance the quality of life of people with coeliac disease and those medically diagnosed as requiring a gluten free diet for life and to support research towards a cure or other ethical forms of treatment. Coeliac disease effects, on average, approximately 1 in 70 Australians however it is believed 80% currently remain undiagnosed. We aim to support and educate our members, so they can share this information within their family, social and community networks, with the aim of raising awareness of the need for prompt and proper diagnosis and treatment, to provide improved long term health outcomes for all those effected. What We Do Our core business is to provide support to those with coeliac disease or medically diagnosed gluten sensitivity by providing ongoing membership, services, information and understanding to individuals, health professionals, food providers, researches and the broader community. Advertising in The Australian Coeliac Magazine 2016/17 Our most valued resource, keeping our members up to date. The Australian Coeliac magazine is a full colour, quarterly publication, sent to all members of the state Coeliac organisations as a benefit of membership. We regularly receive feedback from our members letting us know that the magazine is the reason they renew their membership annually and they eagerly await the arrival of each issue so they can read it from cover to cover, with equal attention to articles and advertising. Articles of interest Content covers a variety of areas, as listed below, to keep our members informed about current developments relating to coeliac disease and availability of gluten free products. The mix includes letters, stories and recipes that we have received from members, to help encourage and support other members and to form a sense of community. Latest medical information related to coeliac disease Updates on research, food labelling and ingredients Dietetic advice Recipes and cooking hints Travel stories and information Members stories and comments Children s section News from around Australia Advertising Advertisers often contact us to let us know they have experienced a direct and prompt response to their advertising in the magazine, with very pleasing results. Advertising keeps our members up to date with availability of gluten free products and related services The Australian Coeliac is distributed nationally to all members of each state Coeliac organisation As we distribute on a quarterly basis, The Australian Coeliac enjoys a high pass-around and retention rate Circulation Approximately 20,000 to a targeted gluten free audience, with a readership that is approximately double that, as it is shared amongst family and friends. 3

The Australian Coeliac Magazine Rate Card and Deadlines 2016/17 Advertising rates Advertising rates and discount options are included in the booking form on page 5 of this document. These rates are effective from 1 December 2015 until further notice. Rates include GST but DO NOT include agency commission (i.e. net only). Printed flyers supplied by the advertiser can be inserted into the magazine. The rate quoted is for the cost of insertion only and does not include the cost of design or printing. Delivery details for inserted flyers will be sent at the time of booking. Please note: No discount can be applied to premium positions and consecutive bookings for these positions are limited to two. Artwork specifications Artwork should be supplied by advertiser s graphic designer using the following checklist for specifications: File supplied as hi-resolution pdf (preferred), Adobe Illustrator or InDesign. CMYK files only. No RGB. Artwork size to match booked advertisement size (sizes shown on page 6). Full page ads must include 4mm bleed. Include crop marks with offset 4mm. Include embedded fonts. Delete unnecessary elements, such as spot colour. Check trim, bleed and type-safe area is correct. Check images are hires and CMYK (no less than 300dpi). Check text is at least10mm in from trim edge (20mm margin is preferred). If artwork file size exceeds 5MB, Please send via a cloud based file sharing service, e.g. Hightail. Marketing - Great Start/New Member Kits... Every new member who joins our organisation receives a Great Start/New Member Kit which contains a vast array of resources to assist the newly diagnosed. It also includes a range of sample gluten free products. Your gluten free products will be sent directly to newly diagnosed members with coeliac disease. Advertising - Electronic State e-newsletter About Each state regularly sends an e-newsletter to all members who provide us with their email address. It features details of upcoming events, news, Coles discounts for members and other items of interest to members which are relevant to their state. The email is in colour and is distributed at the beginning of each month (Queensland - every 2nd month). The enews advertisements/advertorials can contain a logo and/or photo, accompanied by up to 50 words and a link to your own website/email. Coeliac Australia Advertising Agreement Terms and conditions - general All advertisers must complete and sign the agreement at the end of this document prior to advertising being approved. Advertising will not proceed if this signed agreement is not received. We reserve the right to evaluate all statements in advertisements and we only accept advertising under the following terms and conditions. 1. Advertising should be relevant to members. We reserve the right not to publish material inconsistent with our policies. 2. Advertisers that wish to advertise information not relevant to a gluten free lifestyle can only do so at the discretion of the Board of Management. 3. Registered trademarks of Coeliac Australia such as the: Coeliac Australia logo, Endorsement Logo (Crossed Grain) and the Accreditation Logo (GF symbol) can only be used in advertisements by companies that have a current license agreement with Coeliac Australia. 4. The nature and content of the advertising or sponsorship should contribute to the professional image of CA. 5. Acceptance and inclusion of an advertisement or sponsor s logo in CA publications does not imply membership, accreditation, partnership or endorsement of the product or sponsor. 6. Advertising is to be clearly distinguishable from the publication text. Where the advertiser submits text to accompany the advertisement, it will clearly be labelled as Advertorial and the space used will be charged at published advertising rates. 7. Positioning of advertisements will be at the discretion of the editor of the relevant publication. 8. Advertisements will not be accepted where they are likely to cause offence, are untruthful, are misleading or deceptive in any way, or are discriminatory. 9. In any edition of CA publications, limited space will be allocated for advertising and sponsorship. Should the allocated advertising space be full prior to the deadline date and an advertiser submits an advertisement with payment, they shall be notified and offered space in the following issue. 10. Refer to the relevant current booking form for advertising rates. 11. Advertisements will be confirmed and invoiced once a booking form is received. 12. Advertising placement will not proceed if monies are not received prior to going to print. 13. The total number of inserts in each publication is limited. Confirmation will be confirmed and invoiced upon acceptance. 14. Advertisements will only be accepted from registered businesses. 15. Advertisers are prohibited from using the CA registered name, logo or any suggestion of membership, affiliation or accreditation for their own marketing, advertising or promotional purposes. Terms and conditions Food Service Providers and manufacturers (in addition to above) 1. All food service advertisers must abide by and meet the best practice of gluten free food preparation as outlined in part A of the CA Gluten Free Standard for the Australian Food Service Sector which is available via our website. http://www.coeliac.org.au/gf-standard/. 2. All gluten free menu options and products must abide by FSANZ: Only terminology acceptable is gluten free or low gluten Must not include any ingredients derived from wheat, rye, barley or oats and their derivatives. With the exception of those ingredients that are nil detectable upon testing such as glucose syrup from wheat. Disclaimers must not accompany a gluten free claim. 3. The website listing of a Food Service Provider will be withdrawn if: There is a change in management or ownership as the relationship is with the contact person/manager nominated on the application form The business no longer provides gluten free menu options The information provided on the application is incorrect Complaints received are not resolved in a manner deemed satisfactory by CA or state organisations Please note that the Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) Code states that, Save where otherwise expressly prescribed by this Code, the label on or attached to a package containing or any advertisement for food shall not contain the name of or a reference to any disease or physiological condition. This means that the word coeliac cannot be used in your advertisement (unless you are licensed to use Coeliac Australia s Endorsement or Gluten Free Accreditation Logo and the accompanying text Endorsed/Accredited by Coeliac Australia ). No correspondence will be entered into. Advertisements are accepted in good faith and CA and individual state Coeliac organisations cannot be held responsible for any claims made by advertisers.
