Registrar, (Research, Innovation and Outreach) JOOUST/R/1/2014 Be a holder of a PhD degree in Public Administration or Human Resources Management or equivalent with ten (10) years of administrative experience. Be a holder of a Masters degree or its equivalent in Public Administration or Human Resources Management or equivalent with at least fifteen (15) years of administrative experience. Have CPS(K) or relevant professional qualification. Have served in a senior administrative position in a university or research institution at the level of a Deputy Registrar or equivalent for a continuous period of not less than three years. Be Member of relevant professional body. Demonstrate ability to comply with deadlines Have proven knowledge of fundraising and experience with donor funding requirements Be conversant with university, national and international policies on research funding Be conversant with extension, linkages and collaboration Have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills 2. Deputy Chief Internal Auditor - Grade 14 JOOUST/DCIA/1/2014 : Be a holder of a Masters degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent Be a holder of a Bachelors degree in of Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or equivalent from a recognized University Have CPA(K) or ACCA(UK), CIA or CISA or equivalent Possess Professional Qualifications such as ACCA (Final) or CPA (K) and CIA or CISA. Have at least 12 years of relevant experience, 3 years of which must have been as Senior Internal Auditor Grade 13 or its equivalent. Be a member of a relevant professional body such as ICPAK, IIA, or ISACA, at least 3 years in good standing since registration. Have knowledge of and experience in the use of CAATs/ Auditing software is desirable. Have knowledge of audit principles, procedures and practices including the concept of risk and risk assessment. 4. Deputy Finance Officer - Grade 14 JOOUST/DFO/1/2014 Be a holder of a Masters degree in Finance or Accounting or its equivalent Bcom (Accounting) or equivalent B a CPA (K) or ACCA (UK) or CIMA (UK) or equivalent Have at least twelve (12) years of relevant experience in financial management Have three (3) years of experience at the level of Senior Accountant Grade 13 in a public university setting or its equivalent Possess working knowledge of computerised financial management systems e.g. ACCPAC, Sage, Pastel, Great Plains Microsoft Dynamics Must be a member of an accounting professional body recognised by the Accountants Act of at least 3 years in good standing since registration. 5. Procurement Manager - Grade 14 JOOUST/PM/1/2014 : Be a holder of Masters degree in Procurement and Supplies Management or equivalent with twelve (12) years experience Have three (3) years of experience at level of Senior Procurement Officer Grade 13 in a public university setting or its equivalent Professional qualification in Purchasing and Supply Membership of a professional procurement body recognised by law Possess in-depth knowledge of prevailing Public Procurement and Disposal Act and PPD Regulations. Proficiency in Computerized Procurement and Inventory Information Systems Be of high integrity and with the ability to work under pressure and meet strict guidelines. 6. Be aholder of a Masters degree in Public Administration or Human Resource Management or its equivalent PPossess CPS (K) or its relevant professional qualification Have five (5) years of administrative experience minimum three (3) years at Senior Administrative Assistant level dealing with strategic planning, performance contracting activities, measurement and monitoring, Possess hands-on experience in use and application of computer based platforms for management of performance contract and ISO 9001:2008 QMS, Human Resource Management, General Administration or academic affairs. Have knowledge of Management Information Systems Be a member of a recognised professional administration or management body 10. Records Manager Grade 13 JOOUST/RM/1/2014 Be aholder of a Masters degree in Information Science / Records Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution Have a Bachelors degree in Information Science/Records Management or any in the Social Sciences from a recognized institution. Have served in the grade of Deputy Records Manager Grade 12 or any other relevant and comparable position in a recognized institution for a minimum of three (3) years Shown outstanding professional competence and administrative ability in the management of the records function Have a clear understanding of the National development goals, policies and priorities and the role of records management in their actualization Be a member of a recognised professional body 11. Chief Records Officer Grade 10 JOOUST/CRO/2/2014 : Be a holder of a bachelor s degree in Information Science/Records Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution Have proficiency in computer applications from a recognized institution Have served in the grade of Senior Records Management Officer Grade 9 or in equivalent position for a minimum period of three (3) years 12. Maintenance Officer Grade 12 JOOUST/MOA/1/2014 The Maintenance Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of plant and equipment, general management, health and safety, energy consumption, environmental management and grounds maintenance. 4

School of Engineering and Technology i. Senior Technologist Grade 8 JOOUST/SET/ST/1/2014 Be aholder of a holder of a BSc degree in Construction Management or a Bsc degree in Renewable Energy Technology and Management or a Higher Diploma in Construction Management or Renewable Energy Technology from a recognised institution plus three (3) years experience at the level of Technologist Grade 7 or equivalent. ii. Technologist - Grade 5 JOOUST/SET/T/2/2014 Requirements: An applicant must Be a holder of an dinary Diploma in Construction Management or Renewable Energy Technology from a recognized institution plus three (3) years experience Possess a KCSE Grade C Certificate with three (3) years of experience in a busy teaching institution. 14. School of Health Sciences i. Technologist - Grade 5 JOOUST/SHS/T/1/2014 : Be a holder of an dinary Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution plus three (3) years experience in a busy teaching, research or a medical laboratory or clinical research institute and also be registered by the KMLTTB Board. 5

15. School of Spatial Planning & Natural Resources Management i. Senior Technologist - Grade 8 JOOUST/SSPNRM/ST/1/2014 : Be aholder of a BA/BSc in relevant area or a Higher Diploma in relevant field from a recognized institution plus five (5) years experience at the level of Technologist Grade 7 or equivalent. Have knowledge of remote sensing, geographic Information Systems (GIS) and analytical techniques in planning, survey, engineering and environmental studies will be an added advantage. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the preparation and teaching of practical work for both undergraduate and postgraduate students in aspects of geography and environmental studies. ii. Technologists - Grade 5 JOOUST/SSPNRM/T/2/2014 Be aholder of an dinary Diploma in relevant field from a recognized institution plus three (3) years experience. Have knowledge of remote sensing, geographic Information Systems ( GIS) and analytical techniques in planning, survey, engineering and environmental studies will be an added advantage. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the preparation and teaching of practical work for both undergraduate and postgraduate students in aspects of planning and environmental studies. 16. School of Biological and Physical Sciences i. Senior Technologist - Grade 8 JOOUST/SBPS/ST/1/2014 Be a holder of A BSc degree or Higher National Diploma or its equivalent in Analytical Chemistry or Applied Biology or Physics from a recognized institution with three (3) years experience at the level of Technologist 1 grade 7 or equivalent. ii. Technologist - Grade 5 JOOUST/SBPS/T/2/2014 Be a holder of a Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or Applied Biology (Botany or Zoology) or Physics from a recognized institution plus three (3) years experience in a busy teaching institution. 6

17. School of Agricultural and Food Sciences i. Technologist - Grade 5 JOOUST/SAFS/T/1/2014 Be a holder of an ordinary Diploma in any field of Plant Sciences or Animal Science or Food Sciences from a recognized institution plus three (3) years experience in a busy teaching institution.
