TELEPHONE: (020) FAX (020) VACANCIES The Co-operative University College of Kenya (CUCK), formerly Co-operative College of Kenya, was established through the Co-operative University College of Kenya Order, Legal Notice No. 161 of 4 th November 2011 as a Constituent College of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. The University College aims at becoming a leading center of excellence for a globally competitive co-operative sector. CUCK is 9001:2008 ISO Certified and has established Campuses in Nairobi CBD, Meru and Mombasa with the main Campus located approximately 20 km from Nairobi City Centre in the serenity of Karen suburbs, a very conducive environment for serious academic engagement and learning. The University College offers academic programmes at the diploma, undergraduate and post graduate degree levels. CUCK seeks to recruit suitable candidates to fill in the following vacant positions in the University College. A) FACULTY OF CO-OPERATIVES AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (FCCD) I. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR GRADE 14 (AC/ASSPROF/FCCD/8/14) following fields: Management, Community Development or Agri-business; b) At least three (3) years teaching/ research experience at the University level as a Senior Lecturer in their area of specialization; two (2) refereed books in their area of specialization since appointment as a Senior Lecturer. d) Supervised at least five (5) postgraduate students, demonstrable involvement in post-graduate course development and attraction of research funds as a Senior Lecturer. e) Been registered by the relevant Professional Body (where applicable). SENIOR LECTURERS GRADE 13 (AC/SLEC/ FCCD/8/14) following fields; Co-operative Management, Agricultural Economics, Human Resource Management or Strategic Management; b) At least three (3) years of teaching/research experience at the University level as a Lecturer in their area of specialization; two (2) refereed books in their area of specialization since appointment as a Lecturer. d) Supervised at least four (4) postgraduate students, demonstrable involvement in post-graduate course development and attraction of research funds as a Lecturer; e) Been registered by the relevant Professional Body (where applicable). III. LECTURERS GRADE 12 (AC/LEC/ FCCD/8/14) following fields; Community Development, Co-operative Management, Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance, Disaster Mitigation and Sustainable Development, Environmental Law, Labour Law or Office Management/Administration; b) Applicants with LLM and three (3) years uninterrupted University teaching experience in either Environmental Law or Labour Law and at least two (2) outstanding publications in peer-reviewed journals will be considered. Applicants with LLM should be ready to register for a Ph.D program upon appointment. c) Been registered by the relevant Professional Body (where applicable). IV. TUTORIAL FELLOWS GRADE 11 (AC/TF/ FCCD/8/14) a) A Bachelor s degree and a Master s degree qualification from a recognized/accredited Institution in any of the following fields; Co-operative Management, Law or Business Administration; b) Demonstrated potential for University teaching and research; c) Be ready to register for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). 3 B) FACULTY OF COMMERCE (FC) I. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR GRADE 14 (AC/ASSPROF/FC/8/14) following fields: Banking, Finance or Accounting; b) At least three (3) years teaching/ research experience at the University level as a Senior Lecturer in their area of specialization; two (2) refereed books in their area of specialization since appointment as a Senior Lecturer. d) Supervised at least five (5) postgraduate students, demonstrable involvement in post-graduate course development and attraction of research funds as a Senior Lecturer. e) Been registered by the relevant Professional Body (where applicable). II. SENIOR LECTURERS GRADE 13 (AC/SLEC/ FC /8/14) following fields; Management & Leadership, Finance, Banking, Accounting, Economics, Hospitality & Tourism Management or Marketing Management; b) At least three (3) years of teaching/research experience at the University level as a Lecturer in their area of specialization; two (2) refereed books in their area of specialization since appointment as a Lecturer. d) Supervised at least four (4) postgraduate students, demonstrable involvement in post-graduate course development and attraction of research funds as a Lecturer; III. TUTORIAL FELLOWS GRADE 11 (AC/TF/ FC/8/14) a) A Bachelor s degree and a Master s degree qualification from a recognized/accredited Institution in any of the following fields; Business Administration, Finance & Accounting, Banking, Management & Leadership, Procurement & Logistics, Entrepreneurship, Economics, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Marketing Management or Insurance & Risk Management; b) Demonstrated potential for University teaching and research; c) Be ready to register for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). C) DIRECTORATE OF COMPUTING AND e-learning (DCeL) I. SENIOR LECTURERS GRADE 13 (AC/SLEC/ DCeL /8/14) following fields; Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Technology, Information Systems or Computer Science & Mathematics; b) At least three (3) years of teaching/research experience at the University level as a Lecturer in their area of specialization; two (2) refereed books in their area of specialization since appointment as a Lecturer. d) Supervised at least four (4) postgraduate students, demonstrable involvement in post-graduate course development and attraction of research funds as a Lecturer; II. TUTORIAL FELLOWS GRADE 11 (AC/TF/ DCeL/8/14) a) A Bachelor s degree and a Master s degree qualification from a recognized/accredited Institution in any of the following fields; Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Technology, Management Information Systems, ICT Policy and Regulation or Computer Science & Mathematics; b) Demonstrated potential for University teaching and research; c) Be ready to register for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). IV. ICT CONTENT OFFICERS GRADE 8/9/10 (NT/ICTCO/ DCeL/8/14) a) A Bachelor s degree qualification from a recognized/accredited Institution in any of the following fields; Computer Science, Information Technology or Information Systems; b) At least three (3) years working experience with Moodle Learning Management System (Content and online user Management) in a recognized institution of higher learning; c) Those pursing a Masters degree will have an added advantage. D) MERU CAMPUS I. LECTURERS GRADE 12 (AC/LEC/ MC/8/14) following fields; Co-operative Management, Community Development or Management & Leadership; b) Been registered by the relevant Professional Body (where applicable).
