2. New Halls Complex Following an initial phase involving complete renovation of the Conference Centre and the installation of ultra-modern, hi-tech facilities, our South Halls were totally rebuilt in 2011, creating in their place a multi-purpose building that meets high energy standards and offers a degree of modularity unique in Frenchspeaking Switzerland. Beaulieu Lausanne will continue its development by renovating the North Halls in the near future and, subsequently, the south wing of the main building, thereby reinforcing the exclusivity of its site and enhancing the visitor s experience. A hotel complex will be built, rounding off facilities not only for visitors but also for exhibitors and other participants at our events. This programme is part of the Beaulieu2020 project. (www.beaulieu2020.ch) Access to the Conference Centre The South Halls meet current Minergie label requirements in terms of insulation of the building s skin and its configuration, being economic with resources and necessary heating energy. Shrubs have been planted on the roof, which is ideally configured to offer outstanding views of Lake Geneva and the Alps. 5

South Halls The new centrepiece of the Beaulieu2020 project, the South Halls building, has been entirely rebuilt by recycling the concrete of earlier constructions. Today it offers two exhibition halls each with a floor space of more than 5 500 m², with no pillars on the upper floor. Its seven metre headroom allows space for even the most eye-catching stands, making it also an ideal venue for sports events, gala evenings and general assemblies. The many windows, which can be darkened, let in generous amounts of daylight. North Halls The North Halls offer a range of very interesting possibilities. The lower floor opens onto gardens, while the upper floor has an open air space on one side and, opposite this, a terrace overlooking gardens with a view of the site in its entirety. The North Halls offer spaces ranging from 843 m² to 2 790 m², some with a restaurant (l Alpage, l Oliveto and the Beaulieu Café) and one with a central opening to the lower hall (13), creating a unique atmosphere and backdrop depending on the event.
