Chicago Area Clean Cities Coalition Encouraging the use of clean vehicles and clean-vehicle technologies for over 20 years CLEAN VEHICLES, CLEAN FUELS, CLEAN AIR, CLEAN CITIES GET INVOLVED! 2016 Sponsorship & Membership Guide

ABOUT US The Chicago Area Clean Cities (CACC) coalition is a voluntary, 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership organization dedicated to expanding the use of alternative fuels and advanced vehicle technologies in the Chicago metropolitan area. A program of the U.S. Department of Energy, we provide education, technical expertise, networking opportunities and funding assistance to help members invest in local, sustainable transportation solutions which not only supports our regional economy and protects our environment, but can green your bottom line. We are one of nearly 100 Clean Cities coalitions across the country. CACC members represent government, businesses, educational and research institutions, fuel providers, utilities and environmental organizations. OUR MISSION The mission of the U.S. Department of Energy s Clean Cities program is to advance the energy, economic, and environmental security of the U.S. by supporting local decisions to adopt practices that contribute to the reduction of petroleum consumption in the transportation sector. Ever since we received our official designation as one of nearly 100 Clean Cities coalitions in the U.S., the Chicago Area Clean Cities (CACC) Coalition has worked to meet these objectives: Coordinate efforts to obtain funding to implement clean fuel and petroleum-displacement projects; Initiate and support legislation and programs that effectively promote clean fuels, clean fuel vehicles, idle reduction, enhanced fuel economy and other clean technologies; Develop fueling infrastructure in the Chicago metropolitan area to support a diverse clean fuel market; Educate the public and regional fleet operators about the operation and benefits of clean fuels, clean fuel vehicles, idle reduction technologies and hybrid-electric vehicles; Incorporate as many clean fuel vehicles as possible in the Chicago metropolitan area.

OUR SUCCESS Since we received our official Clean Cities Coalition designation from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in 1994, our partners and members have collaborated to meet a challenging environment and to transform transportation in a six-county region that includes Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties. Throughout our 20-plus year history, the coalition has dramatically altered the clean transportation landscape on a number of fronts: Petroleum reduction. From 2005 to 2014, CACC has reduced petroleum use by approximately 104 million gasoline gallon equivalents (GGEs). Alternative fuel and hybrid vehicle usage. According to the CACC 2014 fleet survey, more than 18,000 alternative fuel and hybrid vehicles are now being used by stakeholders in the Chicago area. Infrastructure growth. There are currently approximately 157 alternative fuel stations and 250 electric vehicle charging stations in the Chicago area. WHY SUPPORT CACC? Nationwide, the Clean Cities program has set an overall goal of displacing 2.5 billion gallons of petroleum per year from the transportation sector by 2020. Clean Cities coalitions like ours must increase the amount of petroleum displaced by 17 percent per year in order to reach this goal. Your support gives us the resources to hold workshops and seminars, and work with area fleets, community leaders, and citizens, as well as assist in the increase of alternative-fuel vehicles/ advanced technologies and fueling/charging infrastructure in the Chicago area. In our region, the coalition is a catalyst for expanding the fuels market and driving business in the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG); Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG); Propane; Electric; Biodiesel; and Ethanol and Hydrogen industries. As part of the DOE s Clean Cities program, we support all fuel types in an effort to reduce petroleum usage and strengthen the local economy. Your support as a sponsor makes it possible for the organization to strengthen our commitment in meeting our goals and fulfilling our mission and vision. Individual memberships are available for those who want to participate in the coalition. Employees of sponsors are considered members and do not need to complete separate membership applications.

GET INVOLVED Thank you for being a valued member/stakeholder/supporter/friend of Chicago Area Clean Cities. We would like to extend an invitation for your organization to become a sponsor or a member of the coalition. Our coalition is a valuable opportunity for private and public fleets and consumers to make a positive impact on the environment. CACC s members are comprised of commercial and public fleets, federal, state and local governments, auto manufacturers, car dealerships, fuel suppliers, conversion companies, environmental organizations, corporations, small businesses, and individuals. These stakeholders come together to share information and resources, educate the public, help craft public policy, and collaborate on projects that reduce petroleum use and improve air quality. Get involved in the coalition to help make a better world and a better Chicago community. Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Read through our materials, visit our website and get to know us a bit better. Decide which level of sponsorship or membership best suits you and your organization, and complete the membership application found in this packet. Stay actively involved! Connect with us by signing up for our e-newsletters, follow us on social media, attend and participate in events, and serve on the Steering Committee.
