Background The BFX Festival was designed to celebrate the creative and technical achievements of the visual effects, animation and games industry, inspire the next generation of talent in this exciting field and share the latest knowledge through a unique programme of screenings, presentations, workshops and master classes. The 2014 Festival will run from 22nd-28th September. The 2014 event will open with a 7-week residential competition for the UK s best visual effects and animation students and recent graduates; this will be followed by a 3-day academic conference and a 4-day festival of workshops, public screenings, master classes, careers hub and a children s animation workshop. BFX 2014 culminates with an awards dinner/ceremony for the competition winners.
