JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Grade: Hours: Location: Department: Accountable to: Virtual Desktop Engineer Support Grade F 37 hours per week (pro-rata) Framwellgate Moor Campus ICT Job Purpose The holder of this post will be expected to support the operational needs within an enterprise VDi Environment within the College Infrastructure. In addition the person will be expected to support on a day to day basis the virtual desktop environment. The person appointed will liaise with a range of support, academic and management staff from all departments within the College. Key Result Areas. To ensure the College desktop virtual environment is appropriately configured to maintain security and optimal performance.. To ensure all College enterprise virtual desktops are up to date for their ongoing operation 3. To proactively support and maintain the College enterprise virtual desktops, 4. To work towards and achieve recognized certification appropriate to the environment. 5. Scheduling, performing or supervising upgrades and enhancements to any enterprise virtual desktops, and virtual desktop gold images as directed by the 6. Highlighting issues and escalations within these applications to the IT Operations Manager.

7. To provide technical advice on any changes to the enterprise virtual desktop environment and associated deployments. 8. Provide technical advice and support in the development and integration of enterprise desktops across the College. 9. To create, update and maintain Desktop images for all environments across the College. 0. To update and maintain any topology and/or configuration documentation of the environment as appropriate.. Monitoring of all Enterprise Virtual Desktops within the College Infrastructure to ensure optimal performance. Monitoring the underlying virtual server infrastructure for the enterprise virtual desktop environment. 3. Scheduling, performing or supervising upgrades and enhancements to any enterprise virtual desktops, and virtual desktop gold images as directed by the 4.
