Women s locker room: 18 and up. In the building: Must be 10 or older to be unsupervised. Children under age 15 at the Y longer than three hours will have a parent called or be sent home. Lower level weight room and and racquetball courts: Must be 15 or older to be unaccompanied. Younger kids are only allowed with a responsible adult over age 18. Upstairs: Must be 15 or older to be unaccompanied. Younger children allowed with a responsible adult over age 18 and within an arm s reach away. Strollers are allowed. Pool: Must be 8 or older to be unsupervised. Younger children are allowed with a parent/responsible adult in the pool area. It is the lifeguard s discretion if the parent needs to be in the pool or support the child from the pool deck. Insurance reim-bursements are automatically deposited into your checking or savings account by the insurance company at the end of each month. Scholarships We are an inclusive organization. Through dollars received from our YMCA Annual Giving Campaign, we are able to provide sliding fee memberships and program scholarships for those who qualify. Applications are available online or at the front desk. Dues are automatically withdrawn on the 15th of each month and cover a calendar month (example: a draft that comes out on January 15th covers January 1-31). There is no cancellation fee. The enrollment fee goes to our building fund to help maintain and improve facilities. The fee is paid upon membership sign-up and will only be charged once, except for a lapse in membership. Memberships lapsed 30 days or more will be charged the enrollment fee. Those qualifying for an insurance company reimbursement program do not pay the joining fee. Membership cancellation policy Memberships that participate in the monthly bank draft plan must complete a cancellation form available from our Member Services desk. Cancellation forms received on or before the 20th of the month will have their membership expire at the end of the current month. Forms received between the 21st and the end of the month will have one additional draft taken and will expire at the end of the following month. There is no refund for cancellation on Annual Full Pay memberships. Contact us to inquire about our membership hold policy. 3

HEALTHY LIVING Group exercise classes Offered at NO CHARGE as part of your Y membership! Join us in our fitness studios for a great workout! A.M. Stretch: This class will ease muscle tension, increase flexibility and range of motion. You will feel relaxed and rejuvenated. (30 min) Body Pump : A revolutionary weight training workout that strengthens, tones and defines every muscle in your body. Body Pump is suitable for men and women of all ages and fitness levels. It is a resistance training program that uses bar and hand weights to burn fat and sculpt the body into lean muscles without bulking up. (60 min) Cycling: Indoor cycling is one of the best cardiovascular endurance workouts out there. Style of class will vary with instructor. All fitness levels welcome. Fitted clothing recommended. Water is mandatory. Please reserve your bike by calling member services at 739-4489 anytime the day of class. 5:15am participants may reserve their bike any time after 12pm the prior day. (45-60 min) Hatha Yoga: This is a flowing Vinyasa-style Hatha yoga class that links movement to breath to strengthen muscles, increase flexibility and reduce stress. This class can be customized for any body type or fitness level. (55 min) Insanity : Insanity is a cardio-based total body conditioning class that will push you past your limits to get you in the best shape possible! The class is packed with intervals of strength, power, resistance and core training. No equipment or weights are used and all exercises have modifications to make this class suitable for all fitness levels. (50 min or 30 min) KettleWorX : This is a fast, fun & effective class that focuses on cardio, core and resistance. Kettlebell training will improve your cardio fitness, coordination, balance, bone density, muscular endurance, core stability and posture. (50 min or 30 min) Pilates: This is a highly effective conditioning method that works your core, abdominals, lower back, thighs and hips. Each movement emphasizes purpose, body alignment and breathing. You will build strength, increase flexibility and deepen body awareness. (60 min) Power45: A total body conditioning class that uses body weight exercises and other equipment to build strength, endurance, and balance. By using interval training that combines powerful strength and dynamic cardio moves, this class will push you today so you are stronger tomorrow! All ability levels welcome. Modifications are provided for each exercise. (45 min) For a current schedule stop by our Member Services desk or check out FergusFallsYMCA.org SilverSneakers Classic: Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities of daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and balls are offered for resistance and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support. (45 min) Vinyasa Flow: An intensive yoga class offering a diverse range of postures linking movement to breath. All levels welcome. (60 min) YogaHour : Challenging yet doable! This flow style hatha class aims to build strength and increase flexibility and balance in a playful and energized environment. Appropriate for all levels. (60 min) Yoga Sculpt: Introduce hand weights into your practice to increase the impact. This class combines cardio and strengthening poses with dynamic and static weight training. Appropriate for all levels. (30 min and 60 min) Zumba: Shake it up with this fun, energetic hip shaking class. You won t even realize you are working out. Classes feature exotic rhythms set to a high-energy Latin and international beats. Before participants know it, they re getting fit and their energy levels are soaring! (60 min) Zumba Gold : Get groovin at your own pace! This easy to follow program lets you move to the beat at your own speed. It s an invigorating, community-oriented dance-fitness class that feels fresh. Modified, low impact moves and chair options are great for active older adults and all ages. (45-50 min) Trainer-led Classes Trainer led classes are fee based and run in monthly sessions. Fees vary based on total days in session. Registration and payment must be made in full prior to the start of the session. You may transfer your spot in class to another YMCA member if you are unable to attend. No fee adjustments will otherwise be made. Member and non-member walk-in rates available space permitting. Inquire at member services. FIIT BOOTCAMP: Fast results with Intense Intervals and a Team approach. Build functional strength, flexibility, and endurance using plyometrics, bodyweight exercises, core strengthening and multi-planar movements, speed training, a variety of equipment, partner exercises, and obstacle courses. Be part of a team that will push you to be in the best shape of your life. Monthly registration includes a 30 minute personal training consultation, and weekly check-ins. Limit 8 participants per session. TRX Suspension Training Classes (see page 5) 4

Body fat analysis A Harpenden 3-site skinfold analysis, along with body circumference measurements are used to provide you with an overall body fat percentage. Establishing a baseline can help you track progress. Members: $15. Follow up analysis: $10. Fitness evaluations Measurable cardiovascular endurance, strength endurance, and flexibility assessments give us some direction on how to help you proceed with your personal training program. Cost: $20 YMCA Aquatic fitness training Our aquatics department offers several training options. Perhaps you re looking to improve your swimming skills, preparing for the next triathlon, or wanting to add a cross-training component to your current workout. Contact the aquatics department for more information. Adult pickleball Pick up games Main Gym Court #2 Saturday: 2:00-4:00pm Tues & Thurs: 9:00-11:00am All skill levels welcome. TRX Suspension training classes ($) Born in the Navy SEALs, Suspension Training bodyweight exercise develops strength, balance, flexibility, and core stability simultaneously. Our 30 minute classes deliver a fast and effective total body workout. We will coach you on how to modify, unload or add intensity to fit your personal fitness level. Benefits anyone from athletes to seniors. See Group Exercise Schedule for current class options. TRX is a fee based class that runs in monthly sessions. Fees vary based on total days in session. Registration and payment must be made in full prior to the start of the session. You may transfer your spot in classes to another YMCA member if you are unable to attend. HEALTHY LIVING Fitness center orientations Our YMCA offers a wide variety of brand new cardio equipment, such as treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, free weights, Paramount strength training stations, and more. A Wellness Center Coach will guide you through the cardio and weight rooms and show you how to operate various pieces of equipment. Available by appointment only. FREE for Y members. Look for information coming in December about our adult basketball league. Adult volleyball league Women s division plays on Mondays Nov 10 - Feb 2. Co-ed division plays on Fridays Nov 7 - Feb 6. Two divisions: competitive and leisure. Game start times vary between 6:00pm and 9:00pm. Registration deadline: Oct 31 Cost: $250/team (Must pay as one payment) Required captains meetings Women s division & Co-ed division: Nov 3 @ 6:00pm Private and semi-private swim lessons Available for people of all ages and abilities. Taught by Red Cross certified instructors with a minimum of one year experience. Private lessons are great for those who learn best in a one-on-one environment. We offer skills in everything from youth level swimming to stroke perfection for triathletes. Make an appointment today and let us help you reach all your swimming goals. Four 30 min sessions. Private lessons: Member: $55 / Potential member: $75 Semi-private lessons: Member: $30 / Potential member: $45 Lap swimmers and triathletes Pool times for lap swim: Mon - Fri Mon - Sat Sunday 5:30-7:45am, 11:30am-1:00pm 12:00-1:00pm *Lap lane available upon request during all open swim times. Water fitness A fantastic group exercise option for swimmers and non-swimmers alike who want to expand their fitness horizons. Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:00-8:45am or 9:00-9:45am Hydrofit - Monday, Wednesday 5:30-6:30pm Adult competitive swim mastery program This program is for any adults who are interested in becoming more proficient swimmers. Lessons will be taught on a private or semi-private basis. The lessons will be geared towards your specific goals. Lessons will be taught by swim coach extraordinaire Tom Uvaas. Four 30 min sessions. Privates: Member: $60 Potential member: $80 Semi-privates: Member: $35 Potential member: $50 Community lifeguard training Do you love water? Looking for a job where you can enjoy the water and get paid for doing it? A lifeguard training class will be held this fall in coordination with the Fergus Falls Community Education. The minimum age is 15 years old, and you must be able to swim 300yds nonstop, and pick a 10lb brick from a 7-10 ft depth. Call Community Education for dates and times. YOUTH DEVELOPMENT YMCA youth fitness center club for youth age 10+ This program is designed to familiarize youth with safe and proper use of designated equipment in our fitness center and weight room. Once your child has completed this course and is able to demonstrate safe technique, proper gym etiquette, and is comfortable working out on their own, they will be able to use our fitness center and weight room during staffed hours without a parent present. They will be given a club card to present to the Wellness Staff when coming in, along with a sheet of suggested workouts. Members 15+ can use the fitness center and weight room at any time. Free to Y members. Please call or stop in to schedule a time with a Wellness Center Coach. Youth sports acceleration series This series is aimed to give you a leg up on the competition. Join others who share similar team goals and commitment. Classes include a variety of cross-training options designed to enhance athletic performance in any sport, prioritizing injury prevention and joint integrity. Stability training Flexibility Core training Strength training Explosive speed training Plyometrics Powerful multi-planar movements Seasonal sports specific drills (including aquatics options). Sessions run twice a week for three weeks. 6-75 minute training sessions: Members: $80 / Potential members: $112 Minimum of four registrants to hold class: Ages 8-12 Ages 13-17 Inquire at Member Services for upcoming scheduled sessions. Personal training packages may also be used for sport specific training. No one is turned away for the inability to afford our programs. Member Services can guide you through scholarship and financial assistance options. Ask about Inga Nelson Scholarship, specifically established for swim lessons. Youth swim lessons Tues/Thurs Session 1: Sept 8 - Oct 1 Session 3: Oct 6-29 Session 3: Nov 3-24. (Cost will be prorated.) 4:00-4:30pm Levels 5 and 6 4:30-5:00pm Levels 3 and 4 5:00-5:30pm Levels 1 and 2 5:30-6:00pm Parent/child and Preschool Intro to syncro (Grades 3-6) This program will teach basic synchronized swimming stunts, and is a great way to maintain current skills, or learn something new. Participants must be able to float independently and have basic swimming skills. Instructor: Rose Matheny Mondays: 5:00-6:00pm Session 1: Sept 14 - Oct 5 Member: $18 / Potential member: $28 Member: $35 / Potential member: $55 Saturdays Each session consists of six lessons. YOUTH DEVELOPMENT Red Cross Learn-to- Swim level guide (ages are approximate) Level 1: Ages 5-7 Introduction to water skills. This level is ideal for children that have not had previous swim instruction or are unable or uncomfortable putting their entire face in the water. Level 2: Ages 7 & 8 Fundamental aquatic skills. This level is for children that are able to put their face in the water, but are unable to independently float on their front and back. Level 3: Ages 8 & 9 Stroke Development. In this level students will continue to build on the fundamentals learned in previous levels. Skills introduced in this level include: rotary breathing, front crawl, butterfly kick, survival float and many more. Level 4: Ages 9 & 10 Stroke Improvement. In this level students will develop confidence in their swimming skills. Skills mastered in this level include: swimming 25 yards of front crawl and elementary backstroke, swimming 15 yards of butterfly, backstroke and back crawl. Level 5: Ages 9-12 Stroke refinement. Students will master the following skills: standing dive, pike and tuck surface dives, front and back crawl, sidestroke, breaststroke, shallow dive, flip turn and elementary backstroke. Level 6: Ages 11-13 Swimming and skill proficiency. The purpose of this level is for students to refine strokes and be able to swim with ease, efficiency, power and effectiveness over a great distance. Some skills for life guarding and fitness will be taught. Preschool swim lessons Enrollment includes eight 25-minute classes. Basic safety and movements are covered through song, games and other play. Children start moving more independently through the water under their parents guidance, preparing them to work directly with an instructor on their own. YOUTH DEVELOPMENT Flag football league (Kindergarten through 3rd grade) This is an offsite league that will teach introductory flag football skills through the means of practice and game play! Volunteer coaches and Y staff teach values like teamwork, sportsmanship and our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Participants will receive a YMCA reversible jersey to wear each week for their game. All practices and games will be held at Cleveland Elementary School field. Season: September 8 October 17. Registration deadline: Aug. 30. YOUTH DEVELOPMENT School age child care program (SACC) (Grades K - 6) Enthusiastic and well-trained staff provide participants an opportunity to express themselves in activities, including games & sports, fitness, character development, homework help, servicelearning, special projects, and much more! Children will receive individualized attention and develop skills in specific areas all before parents pick them up after work. Snack provided. Program runs through June 3rd and is available on non-school/ early out days (see School s out camp). Monday-Friday 3:00-6:00pm If school closes due to inclement weather, the SACC program will be closed.
