4 Unfold pper trys 5 c Attch the control pnel fceplte (if not ttched) Fit the fceplte ts into the slots on top of the device. Rotte the fceplte down. Then firmly press down on the front corners until they oth snp into plce. IMPORTANT: Mke sure tht ll edges re even with the device, nd tht ll uttons come through the holes in the fceplte. The control pnel fceplte must e ttched for the HP All-in-One to work! 6 Lod pper Lod plin white pper into the ottom try. Do not force pper too fr into the input try, or it might cuse pper jm. 2 HP All-in-One
7 Connect the power cord nd dpter IMPORTANT: To ensure tht the softwre is instlled correctly, do not connect the USB cle until step 17. 8 9 Connect the supplied phone cord Press the On utton (1-LINE) Connect one end of the supplied phone cord to the phone port (1-LINE) nd the other to wll jck. (2-EXT) Follow the step elow if you wnt to connect your phone/nswering mchine to the HP All-in-One. Remove the plug from the (2-EXT) port, nd then plug your phone or nswering mchine cord into the port. See the User Guide for dditionl fx setup informtion. 10 Open the print crtridge door Lift the print crtridge door. The print crrige moves to the right side. 11 Remove tpe from oth crtridges Pull the t to remove the tpe from oth print crtridges. IMPORTANT: Do not touch copper-colored contcts or retpe the crtridges. 12 Insert the tri-color print crtridge CAUTION: The device must e On efore you cn insert the print crtridges. Slide the tri-color print crtridge into the left slot s shown. Push the top prt of the crtridge firmly up nd into the slot until it snps into plce. 4 HP All-in-One
13 Insert the lck print crtridge 14 Slide the lck print crtridge into the right slot. Push the top prt of the crtridge firmly up nd into the slot until it snps into plce. c Mke sure oth crtridges re secure. Close the print crtridge door. Align the print crtridges OK Press OK to print the lignment pge. (Mke sure you hve loded plin white pper in the ottom try). Remove the lignment pge from the output try. c Plce the lignment pge fce down into the document feeder s shown in digrm c. d Press OK to scn the lignment pge. After the pge hs scnned, lignment is complete. c d OK HP All-in-One 5
15 Turn on your computer Turn on your computer, login if necessry, nd then wit for the desktop to pper. Close ny open progrms. 16 Insert the correct CD Windows Users: Mc Users: Insert the green HP All-in-One Windows CD. Follow the onscreen instructions to instll the softwre. c On the Connection Type screen, mke sure to select directly to this computer. Continue to the next pge. Insert the gry HP All-in-One Mc CD. Continue to the next pge. NOTE: If the strtup screen does not pper, doule-click My Computer, doule-click the CD-ROM icon, nd then doule-click setup.exe. 6 HP All-in-One
17 Connect the USB cle Windows Users: Follow the onscreen instructions until you see the prompt to connect the USB cle. (This my tke severl minutes). Once the prompt ppers, connect the USB cle to the port on the ck of the HP All-in-One, nd then to ny USB port on your computer. c Follow the onscreen instructions. Complete the Fx Setup Wizrd nd Sign Up Now screens. After you complete softwre instlltion, you re finished. Mc Users: Connect the USB cle from your computer to the USB port on the ck of the device. Insert the HP All-in-One CD. Doule-click the HP All-in-One Instller icon. c Mke sure you complete ll screens, including the Setup Assistnt. c c If you do not see this screen, see Trouleshooting in the lst section. Mke sure tht you removed ll pckging tpe. After you hve clered the jm, mke sure you press the control pnel ck into plce. You my lso need to remove ny jmmed pper from the rer ccess door or from inside the device. Prolem: The Remove nd check print crtridges messge ppers fter you insert print crtridges. Action: Remove print crtridges. Mke sure you remove ll tpe from the copper contcts. Re-insert the crtridges, nd then close the print crtridge door. Prolem: (Windows only) You did not see the screen telling you when to connect the USB cle. Action: Remove nd then re-insert the HP All-in-One Windows CD. Refer to Step 16. Prolem: (Windows only) The Microsoft Add Hrdwre screen ppers. Action: Click Cncel. Unplug the USB cle, nd then insert the HP All-in-One Windows CD. Refer to Steps 16 nd 17. Prolem: (Windows only) The Device Setup Hs Filed To Complete screen ppers. Action: Verify tht the control pnel fceplte is firmly ttched. Unplug the device nd plug it in gin. Check ll connections. Mke sure the USB cle is plugged into the computer. Do not plug the USB cle into keyord or nonpowered hu. Refer to Steps 5 nd 17.
