1 CllPilot 100/150 Relese 3.0 Softwre Upgrde Addendum Instlling new softwre onto the CllPilot 100/150 Feture Crtridge CllPilot 100/150 Upgrde Addendum Prerequisites lptop or desktop computer tht cn ccept PCMCIA Compct Flsh crd SnDisk 64MB PCMCIA Compct Flsh crd for softwre upgrde (Norstr CllPilot 100/150 Upgrde Kit, NTAB9927/A ) or SnDisk 256MB PCMCIA Compct flsh crd for feture crtridge upgrde (Norstr CllPilot 100/150 Replcement Kit, NTAB9940/A ) terminl or computer with terminl emultion progrm (COM settings: N1) seril cle to connect the terminl to the CllPilot 100/150 the ootloder firmwre version or lter on the CllPilot 100/150 To determine the ootloder firmwre version, connect terminl to the seril port on the CllPilot 100/150 nd oot it. The ootloder firmwre version ppers on the terminl disply. For informtion out how to upgrde the firmwre, refer to Upgrding the CllPilot 100/150 Bootloder firmwre on pge 3. To upgrde the softwre on the Feture Crtridge 1 On the Nortel Networks we site, nvigte to the Norstr Support pge. 2 Click the link nd downlod the new softwre for the CllPilot 100 or CllPilot 150 onto your computer. 3 Use the CllPilot Bckup nd Restore Utility (BRU) to mke ckup of the CllPilot 100/150 customer configurtion nd voicemil dt. Sve the ckup in folder on your computer or on mpped network drive or server. NOTE: The ckup lso sves the CllPilot 100/150 keycodes nd miloxes on the system. 4 Put on n nti-sttic strp nd connect it to grounded metl oject. 5 Insert the lnk PCMCIA Compct Flsh crd tht comes with the upgrde kit into the pproprite PCMCIA slot in your computer. 6 Unzip the new softwre file you downloded from the Norstr Support pge onto the PCMCIA crd: Right-click the softwre file nd click Extrct to. Select the drive letter of the PCMCIA crd nd click the Extrct utton. 7 Check tht the new softwre hs een successfully unzipped to the PCMCIA crd: In Windows Explorer, doule-click the drive letter of the PCMCIA crd.

2 2 Confirm tht these folders nd files re on the PCMCIA crd. The version numer shown in the.txt file cn e different, depending on the CllPilot softwre relese. 8 Use the PCMCIA controller in your computer s system try to stop the PCMCIA crd. IMPORTANT: You must stop the PCMCIA crd efore you remove it from your computer. If you remove the PCMCIA crd efore stopping it, you could corrupt the new softwre. 9 Eject the PCMCIA crd from your computer. 10 Remove the power connector from the CllPilot 100/ Insert the PCMCIA crd tht hs the new softwre into the top PCMCIA slot of the CllPilot 100/150. NOTE: The originl Feture Crtridge must e in the ottom PCMCIA slot of the CllPilot 100/ Connect terminl, or computer running terminl emultion progrm, to the seril port of the CllPilot 100/ Connect the power cle to the CllPilot 100/150. The CllPilot 100/150 oots up nd strts upgrding the originl feture crtridge, which contins the customer configurtion nd voice miloxes. After pproximtely 5 minutes, CllPilot lods the new ppliction softwre from the originl crtridge During the upgrde only the CllPilot softwre ppliction files re updted. 14 Wit until the messge Voicemil CORE redy... ppers on the terminl screen. 15 Remove the power cle from the CllPilot 100/ Press the eject utton on the top PCMCIA slot to remove the PCMCIA crd from the top slot. NOTE: As you remove the PCMCIA crd, e creful not to dislodge the feture crtridge in the ottom slot. If you dislodge the feture crtridge, mke sure it is fully inserted efore you restore power. 17 Connect the power cle to the CllPilot 100/ Wit until the messge Voicemil CORE redy ppers on the terminl screen. 19 After the CllPilot 100/150 finishes strting up, use Feture 983 on n extension on the system check tht CllPilot is operting. NOTE: None of the originl CllPilot 100/150 progrmming informtion should e lost during the upgrde. However, if some of the progrmming hs een lost, use BRU to restore the previous progrmming, miloxes nd softwre keycodes to the CllPilot 100/150. NOTE: If fter pproximtely five minutes the messge Inctive feture ppers on the telephone disply when you press Feture 983, use Feture **XFTEST to test nd remove ny feture codes tht re listed s Inctive. After you finish removing the inctive feture codes, reoot the CllPilot 100/150.

3 Upgrding the CllPilot 100/150 Bootloder firmwre IMPORTANT: Perform this ootloder upgrde only if you re CllPilot relese 1.0 customer. Otherwise, do not do this procedure. 1 Determine the ootloder firmwre version: connect terminl to the seril port on the CllPilot 100/150 nd oot the CllPilot 100/150. The ootloder firmwre version ppers on the terminl disply. If the relese is erlier thn , proceed to upgrde the ootloder firmwre. 2 On the Nortel Networks we site, nvigte to the Norstr Support pge. 3 Click the link nd downlod the new ootloder firmwre for the CllPilot 100 or CllPilot 150 into folder on your computer. 4 Put on n nti-sttic strp nd connect it to grounded metl oject. 5 Insert the lnk PCMCIA Compct Flsh crd tht comes with the upgrde kit into the pproprite PCMCIA slot in your computer. 6 Unzip the ootloder firmwre file you downloded from the Norstr Support pge onto the empty PCMCIA crd. Right-click the softwre file nd click Extrct to. Select the drive letter of the PCMCIA crd nd click the Extrct utton. 7 Check tht the new ootloder firmwre hs een successfully unzipped to the PCMCIA crd: In Windows Explorer, doule-click the drive letter of the PCMCIA crd. Confirm tht the files CllPilot.in nd ootrom.elf re on the PCMCIA crd. 8 Use the PCMCIA controller icon in your computer s system try to stop the PCMCIA crd. IMPORTANT: You must stop the PCMCIA crd efore you remove it from your computer. If you remove the PCMCIA crd efore stopping it, you could corrupt the new softwre. 9 Eject the PCMCIA crd from your computer. 10 Remove the power cle from the CllPilot 100/ Remove the Feture Crtridge from the ottom PCMCIA slot of the CllPilot. 12 Insert the ootloder PCMCIA crd into the ottom PCMCIA slot of the CllPilot 100/ Connect terminl, or computer running terminl emultion progrm, to the seril port of the CllPilot 100/ Connect the power cle to the CllPilot 100/150 nd let it oot up. When the messge Boot progrmming...done ppers on the terminl screen, the ootloder upgrde is complete. 15 When the ootloder upgrde is complete, remove the power cle from the CllPilot 100/ Remove the ootloder PCMCIA crd from the ottom slot. 17 Insert the originl Feture Crtridge into the ottom slot. 18 Connect the power to the CllPilot 100/ When the system oots up, the version numer of the new ootloder, for exmple CllPilot 150 Boot Loder V1.5.19, ppers on the terminl screen. 3 NOTE: Do not ttempt to power down the system. Let the system go through the entire oot-up sequence. Go to To instll new softwre nd new Feture Crtridge, or upgrde the Feture Crtridge to lrger size on pge 4.

4 4 To instll new softwre nd new Feture Crtridge, or upgrde the Feture Crtridge to lrger size This procedure descries how to upgrde your CllPilot 100/150 with new softwre on new Feture Crtridge. You cn upgrde the Feture Crtridge on CllPilot 150 to lrger size compct flsh memory feture crtridge, for exmple from 64 MB or 192 MB to 256 MB. To upgrde the feture crtridge, you must use the formtted Feture Crtridge tht comes with the Replcement Kit (NTAB9940) from Nortel Networks. You cnnot use PCMCIA Compct Flsh crds from other sources s they re not formtted properly for use in the CllPilot 100/150. NOTE: You cn upgrde the Feture Crtridge to lrger size on CllPilot 150 system only. 1 Determine the size of the PCMCIA crd: connect terminl to the seril port on the CllPilot 150 nd oot it. The PCMCIA crd size ppers on the terminl disply. 2 If the size of the PCMCIA crd is 256 MB do not continue with this procedure, s upgrding the feture crtridge is not necessry. Otherwise, continue with step 3. 3 On the Nortel Networks we site, nvigte to the Norstr Support pge. 4 Click the link nd downlod the new softwre to folder on your computer. 5 Use the CllPilot Bckup nd Restore Utility (BRU) to mke ckup of the CllPilot 100/150 customer configurtion nd voice milox dt. Sve the ckup in folder on your computer or on mpped network drive or server. NOTE: The ckup lso sves the CllPilot 100/150 keycodes nd miloxes on the system. 6 Put on n nti-sttic strp nd connect it to grounded metl oject. 7 Insert the new Feture Crtridge into the pproprite PCMCIA slot in your computer. 8 Unzip the new softwre file you downloded from the Norstr Support pge onto the new Feture Crtridge: Right-click the softwre file nd click Extrct to. 5 10 Use the PCMCIA controller icon in your computer s system try to stop the new Feture Crtridge. IMPORTANT: You must stop the new Feture Crtridge efore you remove it from your computer. If you remove the new Feture Crtridge efore stopping it, you could corrupt the new softwre. 11 Eject the new Feture Crtridge from your computer. 12 Remove the power connector from the CllPilot 100/ Press the eject utton on the ottom PCMCIA slot to remove the old Feture Crtridge. 14 Insert the new Feture Crtridge into the ottom PCMCIA slot. 15 Connect terminl or computer running terminl emultion progrm to the seril port of the CllPilot 100/ Connect the power cle to the CllPilot 100/ Wit until the messge Voicemil CORE redy ppers on the terminl screen. 18 After the CllPilot finishes strting up, use Feture 983 on n extension on the system check to mke sure tht CllPilot is operting. 19 Use BRU to restore the previous progrmming, miloxes nd softwre keycodes to the CllPilot 100/ NOTE: If fter pproximtely five minutes the messge Inctive feture ppers on the telephone disply when you press Feture 983, use Feture **XFTEST to test nd remove ny feture codes tht re listed s Inctive.
