:: Email Admin Dmain Inf Dmain Inf displays a summary screen f accunt infrmatin fr yur dmain. Included are the fllwing: POP Accunts: Number f active mailbxes being used excluding the pstmaster accunt. POP Accunts Limit: The maximum number f mailbxes that yu can create. The pstmaster accunt is nt included in the maximum number. Please cntact Custmer Care if yu require additinal mailbxes. Frwards: Number f active frwards in effect. CatchAll: The selected actin fr email addressed t nn-existent mailbxes. Disk Usage: The ttal amunt f disk space used by ALL flders (including Trash and Spam), in ALL mailbxes, alng with the time this value was last calculated. :: POP Accunts Definitin: POP is an acrnym fr Pst Office Prtcl. It is simply the cmmunicatins prtcl r language used t retrieve email frm a mail server. The POP Accunts screen lists all active email accunts, including the fllwing infrmatin: Accunt: This is the mailbx name. The cmplete email address fr this mailbx is frmed by adding @YurDmainName.cm. Name: The real name assciated with the mailbx. This is usually the first and last name f the recipient. Usage & Quta: This ntes the actual disk space used fr all messages in all flders. It als displays the percentage f space used relative t quta (max allwed disk space). Actins: This clumn cnsists f Edit, Delete and Lgin links: Edit: Click t edit yur accunt. Delete: Click t delete this mailbx. Warning: This actin cannt be reversed. Clicking Delete will delete the mailbx and all messages and flders in that mailbx. Lgin: Click t lg in t the accunt. Create New Accunt: Allws creatin f a new mailbx after specifying accunt, name and passwrd. Generate Reprts: Generate an n-screen list f POP Accunts. :: Edit POP Accunts The Update link allws yu t make changes t existing accunt parameters. T edit, type in the new value then click the Update link t effect the change. Nte nly ne item may be updated at a time. Name: Changes the name n a mailbx. Typically bth a first and last name are used. Passwrd: Changes the POP passwrd fr this accunt. This als changes the Webmail lgin passwrd. Spam Filter: Change the strength f r disable the Spam Assassin filter fr this mailbx. (Use the Spam Cntrl menu fr glbal changes.) Additinal functins: Webmail Lgin: Click the Webmail Lgin link t pen a new brwser windw and autmatically lgin t Webmail fr this mailbx. Tip: This is a handy trubleshting tl. If users suspect that they are nt receiving email being sent t them, lgging int Webmail allws yu t see what mail is waiting n the One Cmmunicatins mail servers. View Accunts: Return t the POP Accunts screen. Delete Accunt: Click t delete this mailbx. Warning: This actin cannt be reversed. :: Search Accunts Fr advanced searches, the fllwing wildcards may be used t narrw yur search results: Perid (.) matches ne f anything Asterisk (*) matches ne r mre f anything Caret (^) anchrs beginning f string Dllar Sign ($) anchrs end f string Wildcards are typically used t search fr alternate spellings f the same wrd and t search fr variatins n a rt wrd. They are helpful when yu need t lk up a partial wrd, r when yu want t find all the wrds that have a grup f letters in cmmn. As an example, the star r asterisk (*) is ne f the mst cmmn wildcard searches. The star represents any ne r mre characters. Fr example, a search n c*t matches cat, cut, ct, and als carat, clt, cunt, etc. A search n bird* will find bird, birding, birdman, birds, and ther wrds that start with bird. :: Frwards Email frwarding allws yu t frward yur email frm ne email address t ne r several email addresses. Fr example, email@yurdmain.cm culd be frwarded t yur current email address, giving yu the ability t receive all email at ne address. Or, yu may chse t frward t multiple addresses and each f thse addresses will receive a cpy f any incming email. Yur lcal address is the email bx yu desire t frward t anther address. The remte address is the address that receives the frwarded mail. A remte address can be either internal r external t yur dmain. Frwards can be created, edited r deleted within Email Admin. Click the Generate Reprt link t pen a new brwser windw fr a list f all existing frwards assciated with yur dmain. The Cpy & Frward is a ppular ptin, where all mail fr a real mailbx is als cpied t a remte mailbx. T implement, the address f a real mailbx in the dmain must appear in bth the Lcal address field as well as the Remte address field, plus ne r mre additinal remte addresses. :: Spam Cntrl Spam Cntrl allws yu t make changes t glbal spam settings fr ALL accunts in the dmain. There are three separate actins that can be mdified, ne at a time, by clicking the crrespnding Set link: Spam Filter Actin. Select the desired actin and click Set. Deliver t user's Spam Flder: This is the default setting. All spam addressed t a mailbx ges t that user's spam flder. Allws each user t review the emails that have been tagged as spam. Deliver t pstmaster's Spam Flder: All spam, fr any user, is delivered t the pstmaster's spam flder. Only the pstmaster can access and search that flder. Delete all received spam: Deletes spam immediately. Emails tagged as spam are nt stred anywhere. Update Spam Filter Actin fr existing spam filter users: Click Set t apply setting t existing spam filter users (users wh are set t a level ther than Nne). Set the Spam Filter fr users that are nt currently using a Spam Filter t: Select the level desired (Nne, Lw, Med, High, Ex-High), then click Set t set that level fr all users currently set t Nne. By leaving the Update all users bx unchecked, yu will preserve the current setting fr any users already using the Spam Filter). T update ALL users, regardless f their current setting, check the Update all users bx befre clicking Set. Tip: Visit http://kb.necmmunicatins.net fr mre infrmatin abut Spam Filters. :: CatchAll If yu chse t set up a CatchAll accunt, a single accunt must be designated as the CatchAll accunt. If yu wuld like t have multiple recipients, yu shuld first create an email frward and then use that address fr yur CatchAll. Tip: Unless yu have a gd reasn, it is almst always preferable t select "Set t Bunce Mail. A CatchAll accunt can be useful if a sender misspells yur email address yu will still get that message in yur CatchAll accunt. Hwever, the dwnside is that spammers ften try t guess email addresses. Nrmally these made-up addresses are refused; hwever, if yu have a CatchAll accunt established, this can dramatically increase the amunt f spam yu get. T set-up a new CatchAll (instead f using the Set t Bunce Mail ptin): 1. Under New CatchAll ppulate the Frward T field with the designated email address. 2. Click the Set/Edit t Frward Mail link t establish the CatchAll accunt. T reverse the CatchAll t bunce undeliverable mail: 1. Under New CatchAll, click the Set t Bunce Mail link. This setting will return undeliverable mail t the sender. T set-up a new CatchAll t frward t mre than ne email address: 1. G t the POP Accunts menu under Email Admin. 2. Create a new POP Accunt under the apprpriate dmain. 3. After the creatin f a new POP Accunt, g t Frwards under Email Admin t Create New Frwards n the POP Accunt. 4. Multiple New Frwards can be ppulated n the Lcal Address using the Edit functin. 5. Prceed t the CatchAll menu. 6. Under New CatchAll, ppulate the Frward T field with the newly created email address. 7. Click the Set/Edit t Frward Mail link t establish the CatchAll accunt.
