JOB DESCRIPTION REPORTS TO Content Marketing Overview of Dept/Job Purpose Reporting to the and working closely with all Media Editors, the postholder is responsible for working with internal colleagues and assisting in the delivery of Content across VisitScotland, specifically, all Content relating to Regional messaging. Working within the Media - Regions team, the Media Executive will assist the Media Editors and Media Manager with the accurate Content sourcing, creation, maintenance and archiving across the regional sections of the visitscotland.com site and throughout all print. The post-holder will have a thorough understanding of Content and will be able to advise on Content related topics, such as website look and feel, site navigation, and print publications. The post-holder will ensure that all commissioned work is delivered to agreed objectives, budget and timescales. The team will have experience of working with online, digital and print Content, and have the ability to demonstrate creativity. They must have experience using and uploading Content in different Content management systems. This role will cover Content requirements for the whole organisation, and will encompass all Content channels currently used such as video, podcasts and vodcasts, as well as future media applications that VisitScotland may use. The post-holder will also work across other Content teams as and when the resource need arises. Principal Accountabilities 1. Working within the Content Team, assist in the whole Content process, including (but not limited to) auditing current and available Content, sourcing Content and information (including images and video etc.) and uploading to appropriate Content management system (CMS). In addition, the ongoing regular maintenance and upload for accuracy and freshness of the Content shall be within the remit of the Media Executive. 2. Work closely with all colleagues with Regional team in terms of Content creation and media upload. Play a key role in dealing with the workload for all regional site Content within visitscotland.com. Ensure day-to-day running of all Regional sections in terms of Content creation, updates, upload and maintenance. Proactively suggest increased functionality and additional Content for best user-experience. 3. Work with the Media Manager and Editors - Regions on the delivery of the calendar of regular Content workshops for relevant Regional industry groups and Local Authorities for Content tone, style and messaging. Assist with the delivery of Content requirements from the workshops across the Media - Regions team. 4. Ensure that all Content created internally and externally for the Media - Regions team is accurately captured and stored within the Content Repository. Ensure that any Content requirements across the organisations are checked first against the information which exists within the Repository, prior to new Content being created. 5. Work with Content Marketing colleagues to implement SEO recommendations, ensure all Content is search engine friendly and all website and online e-marketing channels are developed and designed in consistent Content optimised manner. This will assist in building traffic to the sites. 6. Work closely with Content Marketing teams, as well as internal colleagues, on e- communications strategy, particularly with websites and e-newsletters, gathering Content and information for the Media Editors to create Content, proof-reading, testing and other key tasks related to delivering e-communications. 7. Project manage and co-ordinate key Content projects as directed by the Media Manager - Regions, maintaining and monitoring project plans specific to the Regional sections and print to ensure all tasks delivered within each project, ensure testing, proof reading, checking links etc. built into all project plans. 8. Work with the Content Development Team members to deliver accurately and on time, based on brief requirements. 9. With the other members of the Content Development Team, participate in Global Content Planning sessions with colleagues to understand requirements for different Content related projects. This will help to ensure effective planning with work flow. 10. Maintain weekly regional carousel content team and participate in monitoring of the content inbox. 11. Continually research and keep up to date with trends and best practice to ensure opportunities for delivering Content in all channels are identified and implemented where appropriate and to ensure best practice is used to deliver quality outputs.
