1 JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Applications and Web Developer Job Holder: TBA Start Date: Salary: 19k 25k Overview of role We are looking for a full-stack developer to manage and extend our current Ruby on Rails platform that was built by an external team. A strong knowledge of Ruby on Rails is needed; however we're open to the idea of taking on a talented Developer to complete projects to link to this platform in Laravel. The role requires a working knowledge of HTML5 & CSS including an understanding of pre-processors and automation tools. Experience with Sass and Gulp is desirable. This is an exciting opportunity to define the workflow and technologies used within the company. As the company grows you will help with hiring and shaping the development team. We ensure our staff have good equipment so you'll be working a 27" imac and offered a MacBook Pro to use outside of work. There will also be a budget for software required: IDE's, Adobe Creative Cloud etc. Other Requirements will include; Combining all elements of the program design and testing it; Testing sample data-sets to check that output from the program works as intended; Conducting testing and installing the program into production; Reacting to problems and correcting the program as necessary; Consulting manuals, periodicals and technical reports to learn new ways to develop programs and maintain existing skills and knowledge; Updating, repairing, modifying and developing existing software and generic applications. Strong Knowledge of PHP or Ruby Experience with frameworks, such as Laravel 4 or Ruby on Rails Understanding of Source Control (Git) & workflow Working knowledge of HTML5 & CSS Experience with Sass and Gulp is desirable Strong Knowledge of jquery Benefits: Work one day per week remotely Conference & training budget MacBook Pro

Probable time allocation May vary depending on business requirements. Web and System Development General administration 90% 10% Boundaries of role Expected to be pro-active, work on own initiative and undertake a wide variety of tasks. Qualifications IT Degree Experience in Ruby programming language desirable. Good general education, minimum 5 GCSE s Grade A-C Proven Abilities Ability to implement initiatives Ability to problem solve and work on own initiative Ability to work with all levels of staff Adaptable and able to pick up new techniques Have good interpersonal and communication skills Be able to work on their own or in a team Be able to work to tight deadlines Be thorough and precise in their work Be able to multi-task Be aware of international web standards and protocols Be able to use their initiative. Measuring Performance Performance will be measured against review documentation set with Receptionist and Skills set out in this Job Description.

3 TECHNICAL SKILLS (Further Requirements) Health & Safety The post-holder will be required to observe company guidelines and policies made under the Health & Safety at Work Act. He/she will take due care and will report any accidents or untoward occurrences and co-operate with The company in relation to Health & Safety issues. Confidentiality The postholder will be exposed to confidential information, e.g. Client details, Key account information, potential new clients. Any breach of confidentiality is considered a dismissible offence. Legislation The post-holder will be required to observe current legislation including for example Data Protection Act, Human Rights Act, Equal Opportunities etc. Business Risk Awareness The post-holder will be required to identify and assess risks to the achievement of individual, departmental and organisational business objectives. He/she will report, control and monitor these risks at a level appropriate to the role.
