1 Mobile Applications Developer MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB To lead the design, development and maintenance of Android, iphone and ipad applications. The developer will lead the entire application lifecycle right from concept stage until delivery and post launch support. Applications will be mainly transaction based and integrated closely with web sites. In addition to delivering the product the successful candidate will be involved in driving the mobile strategy. POSITION IN ORGANISATION Reports to the Internet Development Team Leader Provide expertise in website front-end design and development to internal and external customers. Works very closely with the existing development teams responsible for the web sites Project Managers working very closely with project managers effectively working across multiple projects and delivering to deadlines MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Acting as lead ios and Android developer. Depending on the skills set can be lead on ios and play a supporting role across android. Working closely with other developers leading the other platform development. Deliver across the entire application life cycle concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to application stores and support. Working directly with Developers and Product Managers to conceptualise, build, test and realise products. Gather requirements around functionality and translate those requirements into elegant functional solutions. Build prototypes at scoping stage of projects. Working with the Internet Developers to create and maintain a robust framework to support the applications Build the interface with focus on creating a beautiful and elegant user experience. Create compelling device specific user interfaces and experiences. Standardising the platform and in some cases apps to deliver across multiple brands with minimal duplication of effort. Optimising performance for CDL mobile applications. Keep up to date on the latest industry trends in mobile technologies and design. Explain technologies and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Attend industry events/conferences. PROVEN ABILITY ios Strong Object-Orientated-Design and programming skills in Objective-C Experience with ios SDK (UIKit, Cocoa Touch, Core Data, Core Location, etc) Experience with xcode Proven commercial software development experience Published examples of mobile applications on the App store or the Android market Excellent knowledge in information architecture, human computer interaction and usability design principles Proven ability in delivering successful consumer and/or business products Ability to use analytic data and user testing to inform design decision A passion for new consumer technology and the emerging media landscape Ability to multi task and good time management skills Ability to work on their own and as a part of the team Excellent scoping and estimation skills Excellent testing/ QA skills

2 Desirable skills: Android Strong OO design and programming skills in Java (J2EE/ J2ME) Experience with the Android SDK Knowledge of SQLite, MySQL or similar database management system Familiar with Eclipse General - Understanding of other compiled languages Experience on web service integration (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML) Experience of development using web technologies Good understanding of OO programming and design patterns Good understanding of HTML5, JavaScript, jquery, Ajax and PHP Experience building web and native apps Experience using social media APIs Using version control (e.g. SVN) Excellent debugging and optimisation skills Creative design skills A passion for beautiful design. Creative flair and strong visual sense.

3 Web Designer 1. MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB Predominantly to produce the graphic design for Browser based User Interfaces and solutions. Also for Mobiles Apps and other supporting materials where appropriate. 2. POSITION IN ORGANISATION Reports to Internet Team Leader Provide technical advice to internal and external customers at a technical, project management and Senior Management level. 3. SCOPE OF JOB Design Website Templates Produce mock ups Develop supporting alternate channel Temples Design, maintain and support designs for posters, leaflets, Mobile solutions and other relevant media. Knowledge of Browser Based Solutions - To ensure User Interface functionality and design meets customer expectations and company quality standards. Scope to cover all Browser Based channels and related platforms Communication ensure a good level of teamwork, highlighting issues in good time and proactively suggesting solutions to resolve problems. To inform select CDL emplyees of current design Zeitgeist. Work Organisation Effective prioritisation and meet deadlines Individual Development Take ownership of personal development. Technical/Commercial Knowledge Maintain knowledge of current development tools, Design standards and company issues 4. DIMENSIONS & LIMITS OF AUTHORITY Creation of Business Requirements and recommendations for approval to proceed with the browser based User Interface development and components. 5. QUALIFICATIONS Degree in a relevant subject. Relevant specialist browser based Design skills and knowledge of browser based development processes gained through formal training. 6. EXPERIENCE Proven ability of website design and related presentation skills. Must have a keen interest in pursuing an Internet development career Knowledge of the Internet infrastructure, including browsers Proven ability of image creation, editing and design skills including Photoshop and Illustrator. Communication skills Ability in communicating with internal and external clients to Board level and internal line management DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Internet Designer Develop Designs and Graphics for Browser based solutions 50% Convert customer requirements into graphic design mock up s and specifications Ensure designs are well structured, documented, readable by other developers and meets defined company standards and guidelines Amend content to meet client s requirements Contribute to Investigation and resolution of technical problems via User Interface design Review application changes and request them to be published on to the customer s live website

4 Testing / Quality Assurance 10% Ensuring accuracy of text and presentation Ensure integration with other CDL application software is functional Tracing and resolving errors related to User Interface Design Proactively identify and resolve potential problems in programs / design or the development process that may lead to customer dissatisfaction Perform effective version control management in all aspects of developments Communication 10% Ensure internal and external customers are kept informed of design developments. Ensure that the management team are kept informed of progress & any significant issues Proactively contribute to & utilise the team s / division s technical knowledge base Support 10% Assist team members with resolution of work problems. In a timely manner assist and advise internal and external customers on technical issues. Ensure the Software Testing team have the relevant knowledge to test application changes effectively Work Organisation 5% Prioritise tasks effectively and achieve delivery deadlines Individual Development 5% Identify personal development requirements Participation in appraisal process and scheduling of appraisal tasks To operate effectively within the team and the company Technical/Commercial Knowledge 10% Demonstrate a good level of technical competence within the scope of the role, selfsufficiency & willingness to acquire new and additional skills Maintain an awareness of current design tools, their capabilities and limitations.
