BRNET ND SOUTHGTE COLLEGE JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Marketing and Communications Team Leader SLRY GRDE: PO 2 HOURS: 36 hours per week PRIMRY LOCTION: PURPOSE OF POST: RESPONSIBLE TO: Grahame Park site, Colindale, although the post holder will be required to work on other College sites and at external venues Manage the Marketing and Communications Team in developing, coordinating and delivering the College s marketing and tactical plans. Head of Marketing and Student Recruitment Main Duties 1. Implementing effective marketing plans and tactics in response to the publication of the annual marketing strategy. Developing campaigns for learner recruitment or for internal marketing as required to meet College objectives and targets. 2. longside the Head of Marketing and Student Recruitment, to be responsible for the planning, implementing and evaluating of key promotional campaigns, including the major summer recruitment campaign. 3. Liaising and building relationships with all levels of staff, external agencies and designers to ensure marketing and promotional activities meet the College s objectives and deadlines are met. 4. Developing promotional opportunities and overseeing the development and production of the College s promotions, advertising and marketing collateral. This may include copywriting, creating design briefs, proof reading and supervising the work of external agencies in the range of marketing materials - from production of key publications such as prospectuses, to facilitating the use of standard corporate templates by other staff, to arranging delivery and distribution of publications.

Media buying: planning, booking and placing advertisements in digital, print or other media. 6. dvising staff across the College on suitable marketing tactics to support their courses or projects. cting as a source of marketing expertise. 7. In collaboration with others, as appropriate, to manage and be responsible for the organisation, promotion and evaluation of all College internal and external events, working to enhance the College s corporate reputation. 8. To manage and actively participate in specific College recruitment and promotional events such as open days, external school and higher education careers events, and special events, such as dult Learners Week, which aim to raise the profile of further or higher education. 9. To carry out market research and customer surveys to assess demand, brand positioning and awareness. 10. To analyse competitive and partner activity and pricing positions. 11. To manage the College s marketing resources such as the image library, ensuring that relevant images, with legal consent, are held securely and a suitable stock of images is maintained and refreshed as appropriate using professional or in house resources. 12. To ensure that confidential data or images are held and used in compliance with data protection legislation. 13. To resource or supply the range of marketing input and participate in planning exceptional College activities such as the construction and opening of new buildings; which may include, for example, advice and guidance on signage, materials for new publications such as maps and guides, special external promotional activities and internal promotions and communications. 14. To support the Schools Liaison and Events Planner in the coordination and celebration of special College events such as openings, annual award ceremonies and VIP visits alongside the rest of the team where required. 15. Production or participation in corporate publications such as annual reports etc. 16. To represent the College to the public, potential learners and to external partners and groups at meetings and events, ensuring that marketing resources such as corporate giveaways, merchandise, exhibition stands or other materials are attractive and up to date, within the constraints of budget etc. 17. To advise on and implement the use of the College s Corporate identity in co-operation with other staff. 18. To work co-operatively with other members of the Marketing and Communications Team and Customer Services Team, sharing information and supporting all internal and external communications and processes, to maximise the total efforts of the Student Recruitment Department
19. To manage the Marketing and Communications function, supervise employees work to ensure achievement of the Marketing Plan s goals. To have direct line-manager responsibility for: The Schools Liaison and Events Planner. 20. To plan campaigns within budgetary constraints and work within the College s financial guidelines and procedures. 21. To follow all relevant College policies and procedures for staff, being particularly mindful, in producing all marketing materials, of the duty to promote diversity and equality among staff and students. 22. To carry out such duties and responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work ct (etc) 1974 and associated legislation as described in the College s Health & Safety policy documents. 23. To deputise for the Head of Marketing and Student Recruitment in terms of Marketing and Communications functions where required. 24. Such other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as may reasonably be required, at the initial place of work or at other locations of the College. General duties and responsibilities 1.
