The plygns that were in the riginal dwg imprted, if any, will nt be displayed n this view. 8

FIGURE 5-3 FIGURE 5-4 DISPLAY OF POLYGONS GENERATED BY THE PROGRAM 6 SET FLOOR TO FLOOR HEIGHTS The entities shwn n the screen at this time are 2D. There is n height assciated with them. Yu need t define a default value fr the length f these cmpnents, such as clumns, abve and belw the flr yu are creating. This is dne by yu defining a flr-t-flr distance between the current flr that yu are mdeling and the flrs abve and belw. This will result in the clumns and walls yu create t extend initially frm the current level t the levels abve and belw. Yu can later change the length f each f these cmpnents, yu need be. Frm creatin tlbar click n Level Assignment Tl. The fllwing windw pens. Nte that the distance between the current plane and the ne abve and belw it is given at 10 ft (3m). Fr exprt t ADAPT-PT/RC the validatin is achieved by a clse visual examinatin f the mdel generated. Fr analysis and design using FLOOR-PRO, befre mving ahead with the rest f data input, such as definitin f material prperties, lads and mre, it is imprtant t validate yur wrk. The validatin is dne by btaining a slutin fr selfweight f the structure using the default values f the prgram and visually examining the deflected shape f the flr system. A clse scrutiny f deflected shape f a flr system under selfweight, can reveal many errrs in mdel generatin. 24
