Cntrl f the AC unit based in the ambient temperature read by the wn AC unit, r in the ambient temperature read by any KNX thermstat. AC unit can be cntrlled simultaneusly by the wired remte cntrl f the AC unit and by KNX. Cnnectin Cnnectin f the PA-RC-KNX-1i t the AC indr unit 2.1 PA-RC-KNX-1i withut Panasnic Remte Cntrller The PA-RC-KNX-1i can be cnnected directly t the A/B bus f the indr unit (n Panasnic remte cntrller -RC frm nw n- als cnnected in the A/B bus). See cnnectin diagram belw. 2.2 PA-RC-KNX-1i with Panasnic Remte Cntrller If a Panasnic remte cntrller (RC) is present and cnnected t the A/B bus, this ne have ALWAYS t be set up as Master: T check if the RC is in Master r Slave mde, it has a switch n the back. This switch shuld always be placed in "MASTER psitin. Figure 2.1 Panasnic RC PCB backside, M/S switch Discnnect mains pwer frm the AC unit and use a 2 wire cable with a diameter f 0.75mm 2 t 1.25mm 2 fr the cnnectin f PA-RC-KNX-1i, Panasnic remte cntrller and its crrespnding indr unit. Screw the suitably peeled cable ends in the crrespnding X/Y terminals f each device, as summarized in the Figure 2.2. Maximum A/B bus length is 200 meter. Cable has n plarity. Cnnectin f the PA-RC-KNX-1i t the KNX bus: Discnnect pwer f the KNX bus. ETS database fr this device can be dwnladed frm: http://www.intesis.cm/dwn/eib/pa-rc-knx-1i.zip Please cnsult the README.txt file, lcated inside the dwnladed zip file, t find instructins n hw t install the database. ETS Parameters When imprted t the ETS sftware fr the first time, the gateway shws the fllwing default parameter cnfiguratin: Figure 4.1 Default parameter cnfiguratin With this cnfiguratin it s pssible t send On/Off (Cntrl_ On/Off), change the AC Mde (Cntrl_ Mde), the Fan Speed (Cntrl_ Fan Speed) and als the Setpint Temperature (Cntrl_ Setpint Temperature). The Status_ bjects, fr the mentined Cntrl_ bjects, are als available t use if needed. Als bjects Status_ AC Return Temp and Status_ Errr/Alarm are shwn. The first field shws the where t dwnlad the database and the user manual fr the prduct. 4.1.1 Send READs fr Cntrl_ bjects n bus recvery When this parameter is enabled, PA-RC-KNX-1i will send READ egrams fr the grup addresses assciated n its Cntrl_ bjects n bus recvery r applicatin reset/start-up. If set t n the gateway will nt perfrm any actin. If set t yes all Cntrl_ bjects with bth Transmit (T) and Update (U) flags enabled will send READs and their values will be updated with the respnse when received. Delay befre sending READs (sec): Figure 4.3 Parameter detail With this parameter, a delay can be cnfigured between 0 and 30 secnds fr the READs sent by the Cntrl_ bjects. This is t give time enugh t ther KNX devices n the bus t start-up befre sending the READs. 4.1.2 Scene t lad n bus recvery / startup This parameter executes a selected scene n bus recvery r startup, nly if the selected scene has an enabled preset r values previusly saved frm KNX bus (see Scene Cnfiguratin dialg). If the gateway is discnnected frm the indr unit the scene will nt be applied, even when cnnecting t the indr unit again. Figure 4.4 Parameter detail 4.1.3 Disallw cntrl frm remte cntrller This parameter allws: 1- Having the remte cntrller always lcked, r 2- Decide thrugh a new cmmunicatin bject if the RC is lcked r nt. If set t yes all the actins perfrmed thrugh the remte cntrller will be disabled. If set t yes the Cntrl_ Lck Remte Cntrl bject will appear. When a 1 value is sent t this cmmunicatin bject, the remte cntrller is lcked. T be unlcked a 0 value must be sent. The gateway remembers the last value received even if a KNX bus reset/failure happens. Imprtant: If an initial scene is enabled and it has as Value fr Remte Lck (unchanged) r unlcked, this wuld unlck the remte cntrller because the initial scene has pririty ver the Cntrl_ Lck Remte Cntrl cmmunicatin bject. 4.1.4 Enable func Cntrl_ Lck Cntrl Obj This parameter shws/hide the Cntrl_ Lck Cntrl Obj cmmunicatin bject which, depending n the sent value, lcks r unlcks ALL the Cntrl_ cmmunicatin bjects except itself. 34 If set t n the bject will nt be shwn. If set t yes the Cntrl_ Lck Cntrl Objects bject will appear. When a 1 value is sent t this cmmunicatin bject, all the Cntrl_ bjects will be lcked. T unlck a 0 value must be sent, as the gateway remembers the last value received even if a KNX bus reset/failure happens. 4.1.5 Enable func Operating Hurs Cunter This parameter shws/hides the Status_ Operatin Hur Cunter cmmunicatin bject which cunts the number f perating hurs fr the PA-RC-KNX-1i. 87 If set t n the bject will nt be shwn. The gateway keeps that cunt in memry and the status is sent als after a KNX bus reset/failure. Althugh this bject is marked as a Status_ bject it als can be written t update the cunter when needed. T reset the cunter shuld be written a 0 value. Imprtant: This bject cmes by default withut the write (W) flag activated. If is necessary t write n it, this flag must be activated. Imprtant: This bject will als return its status, every time a value is written, nly if it s different frm the existing ne. Imprtant: If the stred value is 0 hurs, the gateway will nt send the status t KNX. 4.1.6 Enable use f bjects fr Filter This parameter shws/hides Cntrl_ Reset Filter and Status_ Filter Status that lets reset the filter status and als mnitr if there is a filter alarm. 29 79 If set t n the bject will nt be shwn. If set t yes the Cntrl_ Reset Filter y Status_ Filter Status bjects will appear. The Status_ bject will shw a 0 value when there s n filter alarm, and a 1 value when the filter is full. Once the filter is cleaned, the alarm can be reset by sending a 1 value t the Cntrl_ Reset Filter bject. 4.1.7 Enable bject Errr Cde [2byte] This parameter shws/hides the Status_ Errr Cde cmmunicatin bject which shws the indr unit errrs, if ccurred, in numeric frmat. 81 If set t n the bject will nt be shwn. If set t yes the Status_ Errr Text Cde bject will appear. This bject can be read and als sends the indr unit errr, if ccurred, in text frmat. The errrs shwn have the same frmat as at the remte cntrller and at the errr list frm the indr unit manufacturer. If the bject s value is empty that means n errr. 4.2 Mde Cnfiguratin dialg Figure 4.6 Default Mde Cnfiguratin dialg All the parameters in this sectin are related with the different mde prperties and cmmunicatin bjects. 1 The byte-type cmmunicatin bject fr Mde wrks with the DTP_20.105. Aut mde will be enabled with a 0 value, Heat mde with a 1 value, Cl mde with a 3 value, Fan mde with a 9 value and Dry mde with a 14 value. 4.2.1 Indr unit has HEAT mde This parameter has t be used t indicate if the indr unit has the heat mde available. If set t n, the indr unit desn t have the heat mde available. If set t yes, the infr unit has the heat mde available. If set t n, when the indr unit is set t Aut mde, all the Status_ bjects cncerning mde will nly shw Aut enabled. If set t yes, when the indr unit is set t Aut mde, all the Status_ bjects cncerning mde will shw the real mde which the machine is wrking (Cl, Heat, Dry, Fan). In case f the bitfield bjects, als the Status_ Mde Aut will be shwn enabled with a 1 value. 4.2.3 Enable use f Heat / Cl bit-type bj This parameter shws/hides the Cntrl_ and Status_ Mde Cl/Heat cmmunicatin bjects. 2 56 If set t n the bjects will nt be shwn. If set t yes the Cntrl_ and Status_ Mde Cl/Heat bjects will appear. When a 1 value is sent t the Cntrl_ cmmunicatin bject, Heat mde will be enabled in the indr unit, and the Status_ bject will return this value. When a 0 value is sent t the Cntrl_ cmmunicatin bject, Cl mde will be enabled in the indr unit, and the Status_ bject will return this value. 4.2.4 Enable PID-Cmpat. Scaling Mde Objects This parameter shws/hides the Cntrl_ Mde Cl & On and Cntrl_ Mde Heat & On cmmunicatin bjects. 3 4 If set t n the bjects will nt be shwn. PA-RC-KNX-1i device des nt prvide individual cntrl n the internal parts f the indr unit (as can be its cmpressr, refrigerant valves, etc). Rather, it prvides the same level f cntrl as a (user) remte cntrller. Objects Cntrl_ Mde Cl & On and Cntrl_ Mde Heat & On intend t bring cmpatibility between thermstats riented t the cntrl f custm heating / cling systems and ready-made AC indr units, by applying the fllwing lgic: Whenever a nn-zer value (>0%) is received at Cntrl_ Mde Cl & On, indr unit will switch On in COOL mde. Whenever a nn-zer value (>0%) is received at Cntrl_ Mde Heat & On, indr unit will switch On in HEAT mde. Lastest updated bject will define the perating mde Indr unit will switch ff nly when bth bjects becme zer (0%) r when an OFF is requested at bject 0. On/Off [DPT_1.001-1bit] * Imprtant: These bjects functin is nly t send On/Off and Cl/Heat t the indr unit. The PID (Inverter system) is calculated by the indr unit itself.
