What type f data is cllected, analyzed and presented in aggregated frm? Kaltura player cllect real-time player data abut the audience experience (such as start/stp f vide playback, watching buffering time, actual stream bitrate, hsting page, ge-ip data as lcatin and ther viewing data) fr any given user participating in specific Kaltura live streaming (HDS/HLS/ DASH) type event. The infrmatin is captured and analyzed cntinuusly (peridically each 10 secnds). Data is aggregated and summarized t include measurements f partner s n-ging live nw r past events in the last 36 hurs including ther types f live events such as Universal streaming, flash and mbile (legacy) r manual live stream URLs. Nte that currently, Live Analytics desn t keep detailed data fr mre than the last 36 hurs. Kaltura Live Analytics Reprts Kaltura Analytics fr live streaming include several views t supprt the different stages and usecases fr live events. 6 S E C T I ON 2 Live Cntent Dashbard Reprt The Live Cntent Dashbard Reprt displays: Currently bradcasting live events ( Kaltura Live Nw Only ) All live entries that were played in the past 36 hurs. ( All Viewed Live Entries ) The fllwing three data elements are presented: Summarized infrmatin reflecting All Viewed Live Entries r Kaltura Live Nw Only filtered in the dashbard. Entries that are Kaltura Live Nw Only, where a live sessin is taking place in real-time. Entries that were live in the past 36 hurs: Entries that were recrded and nw have a VOD asset fr them. Entries that were nt recrded. Kaltura Live Nw Only entries which are currently live and viewed by at least ne viewer. Yu can access the Specific Entry Live Cntent detailed reprt (per entry) thrugh the Live Cntent Dashbard Reprt, where yu can chse an entry t display detailed infrmatin abut it. T view the Live Cntent Dashbard Reprt Select the Analytics tab and then select Live Real-Time Dashbard. Filter the live entries. Select Kaltura Live Nw Only r All Viewed Live Entries frm the drpdwn menu Filtering Kaltura Live Analytics The Live Cntent Dashbard Reprt filter is used t select hw t display analytics fr live nw entries nly, r fr all live entries in the past 36 hurs. 7 Live Cntent Dashbard Reprt Live Cntent Dashbard Reprt Display The Live Cntent Dashbard Reprt cntains the entry name and the time range. The reprt is divided int the fllwing areas: The filter drp dwn - used t specify the type f reprt (Kaltura Live Nw Only r All Live Viewed Entries). Statistics A list f filtered live entries (up t 10 items may be displayed per page). An Entry s specific data: Plays (r Audience fr live nw), Peak Audience, Minutes Viewed, Buffering Time, Average Bitrate, First and Last bradcasting time. Live Cntent Dashbard Reprt Summarized Infrmatin T display analytics fr current Kaltura live events Select the Analytics tab and then select Live Real-time Dashbard. Select Kaltura Live Nw Only frm the filter drp dwn menu. The fllwing statistics are displayed in the Live Cntent Dashbard Reprt summary: Kaltura Live Nw Only Audience - hw many peple are watching the bradcast right nw Minutes viewed sum f the minutes viewed by all users frm the start f bradcasting. Infrmatin is aggregated fr the past 36 hurs. Average buffering time per minute average time (in secnds) per minute that users experienced buffering Average bitrate (KBPS) the average bitrate users cnsumed during the event (kbps) T display analytics fr all live viewed events Select the Analytics tab and then select Live Real-time Dashbard. Select All Viewed Live Entries frm the filter drp dwn menu. The fllwing statistics are displayed in the Live Cntent Dashbard reprt summary. All infrmatin is calculated frm within the past 36 hur windw. All Viewed Live Entries Plays (sum f plays n ended streams and plays n live nw streams) Minutes viewed sum f minutes viewed by all users Average buffering time per minute average time (in secnds) per minute that users experienced buffering Average bitrate (KBPS) the average bitrate users cnsumed during the event (kbps) Refresh Rate The Live Cntent Dashbard Reprt is refreshed with each user actin r autmatically. 8 S E C T I ON 3 Specific Entry fr Live Cntent Detailed Reprt The Specific Entry Live Cntent Detailed reprt is a drill dwn frm the Live Cntent Dashbard Reprt and presents the fllwing five data elements: Statistics fr a specific entry. A graph that shws the views there were in the last 36 hurs. A map that shws views in a gegraphical lcatin, in a specific pint in time (available fr the last 36 hurs). Player - nly if the entry is live nw r has been recrded. Tp 10 referrers list. All infrmatin is calculated frm within the past 36 hur windw. T view the Specific Entry fr Live Cntent Detailed Reprt Select the Analytics tab and then select Live Real-Time Dashbard. Filter the live entries. 9 Specific Entry fr Live Cntent Detailed Reprt The Specific Entry fr Live Cntent Detailed Reprt is displayed. Specific Entry fr Live Cntent Detailed Reprt Summarized Infrmatin The reprt cntains the entry name and the time range. The reprt is divided int five areas. Statistics fr bth live nw and fr ended live. Audience - hw many peple are watching right nw (fr live nw) r Plays - sum f unique plays n ended streams (fr ended live nly bradcasts). Users wh played the cntent multiple times are eliminated frm this cunt, hwever, plays that resulted frm users wh refreshed/re-pened the brwser with the player hsting page are cunted as new plays. Minutes viewed sum f minutes viewed by all users. Peak audience the maximum number f viewers cunted. Buffering time (per minute) average time per minute that users experienced buffering (calculated as ttal buffer time n the event divided by ttal minutes viewed). Average bitrate the average bitrate users cnsumed during the event. Audience per Time Graph Fr a live nw entry - The number f viewers aggregated during 10 secnd intervals that have viewed this live bradcast fr the last 36 hurs. Fr a live entry that has ended The number f viewers aggregated during10 secnd intervals that have viewed this live bradcast since the first play. Player Preview displays the live bradcast (n air) cntent r the VOD cntent. There may be entries withut recrdings that display a message that the event was nt recrded. 10 Specific Entry fr Live Cntent Detailed Reprt There are 3 types f investigatin reprts, per the different entry types: Entries that are live nw, live sessin is taking place in real-time. The player in this reprt displays the live sessin as it is played fr the end-user. The graph displays infrmatin fr the entire 36 hurs. Entries that were live in the past 36 hurs that were recrded and nw have a VOD asset fr them. The graph in the investigatin screen displays nly the recrded sectin that was saved frm the first encder bradcast until the last. Clicking a pint in the graph mves the play head t the matching time in the player, fr events that were recrded in a "single pass" where there was n recrd, stp, recrd. The player scrllbar mves simultaneusly t right minute f recrded entry, when yu chse the dt n the graph. Entries that were live in the past 36 hurs and were nt recrded. Lcatin shws the audience size in a gegraphical lcatin at the city level, at a specific pint in time (last 36 hurs). If yu are lking at the map fr infrmatin abut a live r an ended bradcast, a tltip is displayed shwing the name f city and number f audience fr the 10 secnd intervals. The user can use the map hrizntal scrll thumbnail t display histrical (up t past 36 hurs) data. There is als a thumbnail tltip t help lcate a specific time in the past. Tp 10 Referrers a list f URLs that hsted the player. Graph and Map Benchmarks Fr Kaltura Live Nw entry, bth graph and map display infrmatin ver past 36h. Fr ended entry, bth graph and map display infrmatin frm start f bradcast as lng as it is nt exceeded 36h, as currently the maximum given time range is 36h. Bth the graph and map include a zm feature and a scrllbar t reach ther pints in time. Bth the graph and map display number f audience per time. The interval f circles n the map (audience) is aggregated int 1 minute, while ttal number f circles will nt exceed 1,000 per each interval view. Plays VS Audience When a user presses play - it is cunted as a play. A play is included in audience analytics nly if the cntent is viewed ver 10 secnds. A play represents a viewer jin, and is therefre cunted nly nce int aggregatin. If a viewer refreshed the page, and presses play, it will be cnsidered as a new jin. The DVR audience (viewers watching in real time but nt the live pint in time) are presented in the audience (live nw) when the live entry is alive. The DVR audience (viewers watching in real time but nt the live pint in time) are nt presented in the audience (live nw) when live entry ended. They are presented in plays (ended live entry). Refresh Rate The Live Cntent Detailed Reprt is refreshed with each actin f the user r autmatically (in case n actin tk place) every 30 secnds. Only the statistics are updated. 11 Specific Entry fr Live Cntent Detailed Reprt T view the audience at different reslutins Use the scrllbar t view the audience data at different intervals. The pint in time in the audience graph is synchrnized with the player timeline. This feature is nly available fr past live bradcasting events that are nt rebradcasted. The time indicates the time interval selected. T preview the bradcast Click n the player. Yu can see whether the entry is n air. T view the lcatin Zm int the lcatin fr the Gegraphical IP t lcatin. 12 S E C T I ON 4 Exprting Live Analytics t CSV The Live Cntent Dashbard Reprt displays all live entries that are frm the last 36 hurs. Yu can exprt Kaltura Analytics live streaming reprts t a CSV file. CSV reprts can be created n the partner id level r n the entry id level. Yu can create CSV files based n the filters yu have chsen frm the Live Cntent Dashbard Reprts. All Entries Live Nw Yu can display analytics frm the Live Cntent Dashbard Reprt as well as frm the Specific Entry fr Live Cntent Reprt. The filename cnsists f the fllwing infrmatin: Reprt type Status: All r live-nw time range f YYYYMMDD HHMMSS_Entry ID (fr entry level reprts) The drill dwn CSV filename includes: Status: all r live-nw Type f Reprt: lcatin/referrers/audience/ Specific entry id Entry name Time range The CSV structure includes statistics abut the entry. Lcatin CSV Aggregatin fr the lcatin analytics is n the secnd level descending in time, starting frm the pint yu selected t create the CSV and n mre than the last 36 hurs. The lcatin CSV reprt indicates the city and cuntry, the lngitude and latitude and aggregated data in 1-minute windw with fllwing clumns: Plays cntains the sum f plays in that specific minute. Average audience cntains the sum f the audience knwn in that minute, divided by the number f knwn events Min audience the minimal audience knwn in that minute. Max audience the maximal knwn audience in that minute Secnds viewed will be the sum f secnds viewed Buffer time The average buffer time per minute. The lcatin statistics start frm the first pint f available data in the past 36 hur interval. Aggregatin is n a 10 secnd, level descending in time, starting frm the pint yu selected t create the CSV. Referrers CSV The Referrers CSV includes the list f hst sites and the number f visits frm the hst sites srted in descending rder fr the past 36 hurs. Shw All Entries Filter Exprt t CSV - dwnlads all related entries fr a specific partner and includes ALL available entry data (entry name, entry id, Plays, Peak Audience, Minutes viewed, Average buffering time, Average bit rate, first bradcast time and last bradcast time). T exprt analytics t a CSV fr all entries Select the Analytics tab and then select Live Real-Time Dashbard. Filter the live entries. Audience - dwnlads all audience. (This is represented as the sum f views n ended streams and views n live nw streams fr the past 36 hurs r frm the start f the bradcast, with at least 10 sec interval. Lcatin dwnlads ne minute intervals (averaging every six 10 secnd samples in the ne minute interval) including time, ttal plays, IP t lcatin fields, cuntry, city, latitude & lngitude (at the city level). Referrers - dwnlads ALL (nt just tp ten) URLs (fr the past 36 hurs r frm the start f bradcast), each referrer cntains the URL, the ttal number f visits srted by visit ttals in ascending rder. CSV Drill Dwn reprt (fr Kaltura Live Nw Only Entries) T exprt analytics t a CSV fr a specific entry Select the Analytics tab and then select Live Real-Time Dashbard. Filter the live entries. Select Kaltura Live Nw frm the drpdwn menu. Click n Details t display the Specific Entry Detailed Reprt. Select an ptin frm Exprt t CSV drp dwn. Audience - dwnlads all audience analytics (fr the past 36 hurs r frm the start f bradcast) with at least a 10 secnd interval. Lcatin - dwnlads 1 min interval (averaging 6 t 10 secnd samples), including time, ttal audience, IP t lcatin fields, cuntry, city, latitude & lngitude (at the city level). Referrers - dwnlads URLs (fr the past 36 hurs r frm the start f bradcast), each referrer cntains the URN, the ttal number f visits srted by visit ttals in ascending rder. Verifying and Viewing the CSV Files Yu shuld receive a ntice that yur CSV file was created successfully r whether it failed.
