5 An issue preventing sme users frm pening the Metalgix Diagnstic Manager Management Cnsle, and resulting in n related entries in the lgs, n lnger ccurs. Users wh have "phantm" SharePint databases that remain in a SQL Server database list after remval but d nt exist in their envirnment n lnger experience this issue. Metalgix Diagnstic Manager is nw able t mnitr sites cnfigured with Claims authenticatin. Diagnstic Manager is still using Active Directry Authenticatin t mnitr these sites, s the web applicatins cnfigured with Claims authenticatin must als have Active Directry Authenticatin enabled and an accunt with Active Directry Authenticatin shuld be used t mnitr these sites. The Cllectin Service is nw cnfigured t start after rebting a server and autmatically restart after the Cllectin Service crashes r fails. The Cntent Summary Cllectin request was imprved and nw it is taking less time significantly reducing the chances f timing ut. When Refresh tplgy r Data cllectin ptins are executed Metalgix Diagnstic Manager is skipping the SQL instances that are unavailable and SQL instances available are displayed crrectly n the Tree view and data fr them is cllected. Similar lgic was applied t Add Farm feature, SQL instances that are unavailable will nt be mnitred by Diagnstic Manager. 3.0 Features and fixed issues The new Dashbard prvides a quick glance at the perfrmance data cllected by Metalgix Diagnstic Manager t help yu mnitr yur SharePint farms and pages. A new SQL Servers nde in the Metalgix Diagnstic Manager tree prvides all f the infrmatin yu need cncerning yur SQL Server cnfiguratin, active alerts, and perfrmance issues. These include shwing whether a server is virtual r physical in the server views and reprts a new alert when a SQL Server instance is hsted n a virtual server. Metalgix Diagnstic Manager nw allws yu t exclude multiple disks and databases frm certain alerts. The Alert Threshlds dialg bx includes a field in the disk and SQL Server database alerts where yu can include the disk r database name fr exclusin. The Metalgix Diagnstic Manager Web part and the Web Part Installer have been crrectly repackaged as SharePint slutins. All references in the prduct have been apprpriately renamed. Metalgix Diagnstic Manager detects all the servers acting as Web frnt ends (WFEs)fr mnitred SharePint farms. Befre Metalgix Diagnstic Manager3.0, any machine that previusly had the Web Applicatin Service running was treated as a WFE. This release changes that prcess s that nly machines currently running the Web applicatin service are treated as WFEs.
