Job Description for: Responsible to: Spot Salary: Sector Training Manager Finance Capital B Head of Delivery Operations (Head of Academy) 45,000 FTE plus 10,000 OTE POST SUMMARY: As Sector Training Manager the post holder will lead the College s work based suite of professional training, coaching and services to the Financial Industry establishing the College as a provider of excellence to the Financial Services industry. The post holder will keep abreast of the legislative and development needs of the sector to develop and deliver a package of professional support which will have identified impact on organisations working within the industry. The post holder will manage key stakeholder relationships with organisations such as the FCA and National Skills Academy for Finance and lead on delivering to key national accounts and higher provision as required. Responsible for establishing and managing a team of staff to deliver apprenticeships, work place qualifications, skills development and support services up to graduate level. They will have a background in the quality assurance of work place qualifications, Apprenticeship frameworks and higher work based qualifications. The post holder will be occupationally competent in at least one pathway of Financial Services and will undertake internal quality assurance. The post holder will be responsible for improvements in success rates and the employee and employer experience. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST: 1. Develop and lead on the delivery of a suite of qualification based and continuing professional development (CPD) training packages in response to the needs of the industry. 2. Establish and lead a network of professional executive coaches to offer skills development to the sector in response to individual organisations specific needs. 3. Establish and uphold the College s reputation as an area of excellence within the Financial Industry by organising events to support the professional development of those working in the sector affording them and the College networking opportunities using industry recognised keynote speakers. 4. Manage key stakeholder relationships with organisations and professional bodies from the sector such as the FCA, NSA for Finance and AAT 5. Line-manage a team of staff to deliver apprenticeships, work place qualifications, skills development and support services up to graduate level, including planning and allocating workloads across the team. 6. Lead on and develop internship and higher apprenticeship programmes responsive to the client need. 7. Develop a range of partnership working opportunities with a range of large national employers from within the industry. 8. Develop and lead on a range of consultancy and support services required by the sector and identified employers. 9. Carry out quality assurance activities related to the suite of qualifications including: 1 P a g e
Planning and undertaking internal verification and moderation of assessment practice Reviewing evaluation data and implementing improvements to programmes Improving assessment quality through sharing of good practice Running regular standardisation meetings Liaising with awarding bodies and external verifiers and moderators Ensuring compliance with awarding body assessment strategies and quality assurance requirements. Planning for external verification and moderation visits 10. Ensure the team delivers all qualifications within the remit of the post at or above the target success rates and meet other key performance indicators. 11. Monitor and evaluate the performance of team members, including regularly reviewing and reporting on learner progress. 12. Review and report on learner progress and take actions to ensure learners complete their programmes in a timely manner. 13. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of qualification frameworks, subject specifications, assessment procedures and national initiatives. 14. Ensure that team members have an appropriate professional development plan and receive regular and appropriate CPD opportunities. 15. Liaise with the Quality Improvement Leader on a regular basis and attend delivery team meetings each month. 16. Liaise with other teams and colleagues to ensure effective communication; efficient flow of data and information relating to learners and delivery activity; and effective passing on of business development opportunities. 17. Provide labour market intelligence to the Business Development Team on a regular basis. 18. Support colleagues in identifying planning and implementing quality improvements that ensure rising success rates and rising learner employer satisfaction. 19. Liaise with Awarding Organisations and External Verifiers and co-ordinate and monitor systems and procedures to meet their quality requirements for assessment and verification. 20. Work with the Quality Improvement Leader to support the production of an annual Self Assessment Report for the delivery in Capital B. 21. Work with the Quality Improvement Leader to ensure actions in the Quality Improvement Plan are carried out within agreed timescales. 22. Share and contribute to the College s vision, mission and values and communicate them effectively through management behaviours. 23.
