2 !!!!!!!!Vendor Greeting and Overview GREETINGS! Thank you for your interest in participating in the 2nd Annual Oregon Renaissance Festival of Hillsboro. The dates for 2014 are: Saturdays, Sundays & Labor Day, August 16 th thru September 21 st, 2014 from 10am to 6pm. We welcome applications from vendors who offer period handmade arts/crafts, games/rides, activities, and services. Food purveyors interested in applying, please us at If your experience in food matches the Festival needs, we will you a Food Vendor Application. The Oregon Renaissance Festival of Hillsboro is a themed event reflecting the spirit of a 16 th century European village, complete with costumed artisans selling and demonstrating their wares. Improv theatre surrounds the bustling village with colorful characters, including the Queen and her Royal Court. While feasting on delicious food and drink, guests will enjoy national stage acts and local entertainers performing nonstop throughout the day with comedy, magic, juggling, music, and falconry, including jousting tournaments with armored knights on steeds. This and more contributes to the pageantry and merriment of the day as guests are transported back in time by art, entertainment, and the imagination. The Festival occurs in a temporary setting at the Washington County Fair Complex in Hillsboro. Therefore, you will not need to build a permanent structure. A playful imagination along with the proper tents/temporary structures, signage, costuming, and language are all important components in treating our guests to a celebration of the Renaissance. The jurying process for applicants will be ongoing until we deem the Marketplace is full. It is our intention to ensure a proper mix of vendors representing a wide variety of arts/crafts, rides/games/activities and services. The physical placement of vendors will be assigned with sensitivity to vendor products, neighboring vendors, and traffic flow. 3 ! Vendor Application Information! CRAFTS: Accepted artisans that personally design, produce and/or finish their products will receive priority in placement and promotion within the Festival. List all items you are interested in selling on the application form. Include details, a price range, and submit a CD of captioned digital photos of the craft product(s) listed. All CDs will become the property of the Festival and will not be returned. If preferred, digital photos may be submitted via at: marketplace@oregonrenfest.com. No items may be sold that are not approved in advance by the Festival. GAMES/RIDES/ACTIVITIES/SERVICES: Describe your previous experience and your proposed game/ride/activity/service and submit a CD of related digital photo(s), or drawings. All CDs will become the property of the Festival and will not be returned. If preferred, digital photos may be submitted via at: marketplace@oregonrenfest.com. Vendor opportunities in games/rides at the Festival are very limited. We require games to offer a Renaissance-theme prize to winning customers. The Festival must approve all prizes. PSYCHIC READERS: The purpose of psychic readings at the Festival is to provide entertainment. We want guests to have fun and be enchanted with the Renaissance. Therefore your psychic readings should reflect a spirit of optimism with an overall air of positivity. On your application, list all experience you have as a reader and where. Describe the type of reading to be offered (i.e., tarot, palm, etc.), the length of a typical reading, and the cost. Reader applicants may be interviewed before final acceptance. FOOD: Food purveyors interested in applying, inquire via at: marketplace@oregonrenfest.com. If your experience in food matches the Festival needs you will be ed a Food Vendor Application. TENTS/STRUCTURES: Tents/structures are required to be thematic to the Renaissance. EZ-up or pop-up tents are not acceptable. With approval by the Festival, temporary structures may be constructed. The Festival has a limited number of tents and permanent covered spaces to rent for a fee. Inquire within your application if you are interested. INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: Each vendor is required to have a liability insurance policy. If you require assistance obtaining liability insurance, please contact the Festival. TIMELINE: Applications are reviewed on a first come first served basis. Complete the Vendor Application and mail to the address printed on the application, and include the Vendor Application Fee (non-refundable). If preferred, digital photos may be submitted via or include photos or CD of photos along with your completed application. Do not include any other fees with your application. 4 !!!!!!!!2014 VENDOR FEES: All Applicants:! New Vendor Application fee (non-refundable): $25.! Electricity (optional): $150. One 110v, 15 amp dedicated service. This is per location and availability is limited. Overnight Camping for qualifying participants: Availability is very limited.! RV Camping Fee, per location: $100.! Tent Camping Fee, per location: $50. Artisan/Crafter or Psychic Reader Participation Fees:! Standard Booth/Tent Fee: (Temporary structure up to 12 x 12, tent up to 15 x 15 including tent ropes.)* If paid by May 1st, 2014 $800. If paid after May 1st, 2014 and by August 1st, 2014 $1000. *Additional space is available based upon $25.00 per frontage foot for in-line locations.! Standard Cart Fee: If paid by May 1st, 2014 $600. If paid after May 1st, 2014 and by August 1st, 2014 $750.! Tent Rental Fee*: $325. A limited number of tents are available for rent from the Festival for a fee. Inquire upon application if you are interested in renting a tent.! Covered Space Rental Fee*: $450. A limited number of covered spaces are available for rent from the Festival for a fee. Inquire upon application if you are interested in renting a covered space. *Rental fees are in addition to the Standard Booth/Tent Fee quoted above. Games/Rides/Activities/Services Participation Fees:! Participation fees for games/rides/activities and other services are figured on a case-bycase basis.
