ELIGIBILITY FOR GRADUATE STUDY Applicats to master s degree programs must submit official trascripts showig receipt of a bachelor s degree. Applicats may submit a applicatio durig their fial year of bachelor degree study (after completig their mid-year examiatios). Fial year trascripts must be received i the Graduate Admissios Office before the studet is permitted to eroll. Studets who have eared a three-year bachelor s degree must complete a additioal year of study before applyig for admissio. DEGREE-SEEKING AND CERTIFICATE-SEEKING STUDENTS MATRICULATED STUDENTS (i a degree or certificate program) A applicat to a graduate degree or certificate program may be accepted as a matriculated studet if the applicat s admissio file is complete, icludig all required documets ad if the studet meets all requiremets for admissio to the program. (Note: Requiremets for admissio to a certificate program might be differet from those required for admissio to a degree program.) I certai cases, with the approval of a graduate faculty adviser, a matriculated studet may be permitted to eroll i graduate classes prior to the receipt of official documets or completio of specific prerequisite course work. Or a matriculated studet with academic deficiecies may be admitted o probatio. Studets matriculatig i this maer may have a specific time or credit limit imposed upo their acceptace ad subsequet re-registratio. A matriculated graduate studet fully admitted ad erolled i a degree program is eligible to apply for fiacial aid. A matriculated graduate studet erolled i a certificate program is eligible to apply for fiacial aid if the program meets the followig criteria: The courses that comprise the certificate program are applicable to a degree program; The certificate program requires a miimum of eight graduate credits for completio. NON-MATRICULATED STUDENTS (itedig to matriculate i a degree or certificate program) A applicat for admissio to a graduate degree or certificate program may be accepted as a o-matriculated studet if the applicat s admissio file is icomplete, lackig required documets, but cotais documets affirmig completio of a bachelor s degree, ad the sigature of a authorized graduate adviser. A o-matriculated studet erollig i graduate classes is permitted a maximum of ie credits. A o-matriculated studet is reviewed for matriculatio whe all required documets are received by the Office of Erollmet Services. A o-matriculated studet is ot eligible to apply for fiacial aid. NON-DEGREE STUDENTS Applicats who wish to take classes with o-degree status (maximum ie credits) must file a applicatio alog with proof of graduatio from a four-year college or uiversity. AUDITORS A auditor is a studet who is erolled i a credit class, but who does ot receive grades or academic credit. To audit a class, o academic documetatio is required. The studet must preset a Audit Form, siged by the faculty member teachig the class, to the Office of Erollmet Services. If a audit studet erolls i classes offered through the Office of Cotiuig Educatio, he/she registers through the Office of Cotiuig Educatio ad is eligible to receive a Certificate of Attedace upo completio of the program. Studets who eroll as auditors pay for oe credit at the regular tuitio charge ad are ot eligible to apply for fiacial aid. Special rates may apply for FDU graduates or seior citizes. APPLICANTS FOR READMISSION Studets who have bee away from the Uiversity for less tha oe year may go directly to the Office of Erollmet Services ad have their readmissio processed provided they were i good academic stadig. VISITING STUDENTS Studets erolled at other uiversities may take classes at Fairleigh Dickiso Uiversity with permissio from their curret school. Forms are available o the Uiversity website or from the Graduate Admissios Office (see page 13 for phoe ad iformatio). ADVANCED STANDING OR TRANSFER Graduate credits eared at aother accredited istitutio may be accepted i trasfer, i accordace with the curricular requiremets of the degree program ad the academic policies of the colleges. Geerally, trasfer credit will be cosidered for those courses completed withi the last five years i which a grade of B or better has bee eared. A maximum of ie credits may be accepted i trasfer. Academic course waivers are available i some graduate degree programs. Graduate prerequisite course work may be waived for studets who have completed relevat udergraduate course work, with appropriate grades, withi the last five years. Applicatio for trasfer or waiver credit is made through the academic school or departmet i cojuctio with the Office of Erollmet Services. To request a trasfer or waiver evaluatio, the studet must submit a official trascript. A request for a official evaluatio of trasfer or waiver credit should be cocurret with the studet s admissio to the program.
