The Idiaa legislature created the 21st Cetury Scholars Program as a way to help deservig studets ear college degrees, regardless of family icome. The program provides grats to esure that qualified studets ca pay tuitio ad required fees at state-supported istitutios. However, tuitio ad fees represet less tha half of the total cost of a college educatio because they exclude such costs as room, board ad books. That s why IU Bloomigto created the 21st Cetury Scholarship Coveat to meet this remaiig eed, based o the family s expected cotributio, ad close the fiacial gap that prevets studets from erollig. The Coveat is our promise to provide 21st Cetury Scholars with eough additioal fiacial aid to meet the full cost of attedig IU. The program is a uique partership that eables almost 1,000 studets per year to pursue their dream of a college degree

4 21st Cetury Scholars Pledge I will graduate with a Idiaa high school diploma from a charter, freeway, or other Idiaa school recogized by the Idiaa Departmet of Educatio. I will achieve a cumulative high school GPA of at least 2.0 o a 4.0 scale. I will ot use illegal drugs or alcohol, or commit a crime. I will apply for admissio to a eligible Idiaa college or proprietary school as a high school seior. I will apply o time for state ad federal fiacial aid.

Accordig to his completed FAFSA, Richard s family cotributio is $1,300 each year. Requiremets To be eligible for the 21st Cetury Scholars Program, you must: Be a Idiaa residet as a applicat ad award recipiet (determied by residecy of paret/legal guardia). Be a U.S. citize or eligible o-citize. Make a commitmet to fulfill the program s pledge at the time of applicatio ad reaffirm the pledge as a high school seior. Apply o time for state ad federal studet fiacial aid. Ad remember Admissio to IU Bloomigto is selective. It is importat to take the SAT ad/or ACT o later tha the sprig of your juior year ad retake the exam(s) early i the fall semester of your seior year. Completio of Core 40 is required. The miimum requiremets for studets i grades 9, 10, ad 11 are: 28 semesters of college-prep coursework. Above-average grades i academic coursework (Eglish, math, social sciece, ad foreig laguage). Competitive SAT ad/or ACT scores (the writig sectio is required). A class rak well withi the top half of your class (if rakigs are provided).
