3 Admissio Requiremets 2015 To qualify for admissio to a hoors degree course at the Uiversity you must: (i) meet the miimum etry requiremets (see below). (ii) satisfy course specific requiremets (where applicable). Art ad music may ot be offered as two of the three higher Leavig Certificate grades for miimum etry requiremets but both may be used for scorig purposes. (iii) where there is competitio for places, have good eough examiatio results to be icluded amog those to whom offers are made (see the Leavig Certificate scorig system or Advaced GCE (A-level) scorig system, below). Miimum etry poits for recet years are available at: Miimum etry requiremets: Irish Leavig Certificate To be cosidered for admissio to a degree course at the Uiversity you must: Preset six subjects, three of which must be at grade C or above o higher Leavig Certificate papers or at least grade C i the Uiversity matriculatio examiatio. 4 Miimum etry requiremets: GCSE/Advaced GCE (A-level) To be cosidered for admissio to the Uiversity you must: Preset six subjects at grade C or above o GCSE or Advaced Subsidiary GCE (AS) papers. Two of these subjects must be at grade C or above o Advaced GCE (A-level) papers. The six subjects above must iclude: A pass i Eglish. GCSE/Advaced GCE (A-level) subjects set by recogised examiatio boards are, i priciple, acceptable for cosideratio with the followig exceptios. Physical educatio, Geeral studies ad Media studies are ot acceptable. Applicats who require advice about subject eligibility should cotact the Academic Registry. 4 Combiatios of A-level subjects ot permitted for miimum etry requiremets or scorig purposes: Art may ot be preseted with History of art. Biology may ot be preseted with Botay or Zoology. Eglish literature may ot be preseted with Eglish laguage. Evirometal sciece may ot be preseted with Biology or Geography. Sciece may ot be preseted with Chemistry, Physics or Biology. 5 Course requiremets 2015: Two-Subject Moderatorship (TSM/TR001) Level 8 (Hoors Degrees) The two-subject moderatorship (TSM) is a joit hoor programme. Studets select two subjects from the list below (for permitted combiatios see ext page) ad pursue both to hoors degree level. Usually both subjects are studied for three years ad oe subject oly is studied i the fourth ad fial year (see page 40 i the prospectus). A hoors degree is awarded i both subjects. 6 Two-Subject Moderatorship (TSM/TR001): Permitted combiatios ad CAO course codes TR001 must NOT be etered o the applicatio form. Each possible combiatio of two subjects has a uique three-digit code. Mathematics may ot be preseted with applied mathematics. 11 A higher level grade C i mathematics ad a higher level grade C i oe of physics, chemistry, physics/chemistry or biology. 12 This is a restricted etry course, therefore, applicatios must be submitted to the CAO by 1 February of the proposed year of etry. If you idicate Drama studies or Drama ad theatre studies as a choice of subject, you will be set a questioaire to complete i March. O the basis of the completed questioaire some applicats will be called to atted a workshop ad iterview (durig April/ May) before fial selectios are made. 13 Two higher level grade Cs from the followig subjects: physics, chemistry, biology, physics/chemistry, applied mathematics, mathematics. Leavig Certificate applicats must preset mathematics at ordiary level grade A2 or at higher level grade C3, while A-level applicats must preset mathematics at Grade A at GCSE level or Grade C at A-level. Physics/chemistry may ot be preseted with chemistry or physics. Mathematics may ot be preseted with applied mathematics. 7

Applicats who have previously bee usuccessful (academic ad/or placemet) i ay Nursig or Midwifery programme or have ay issues which would affect their registratio with A Bord Altraais will oly be cosidered for re-etry to Nursig or Midwifery o a case-by-case appeal basis to the relevat Programme Board. Such applicats should make their case i writig to the Admissios Officer ad iclude ay relevat details of exteuatig circumstaces. 16 This is a restricted etry course; therefore, applicatios must be submitted to the CAO by 1 February of the proposed year of etry. The Adelaide Hospital Society, which is a volutary charitable orgaisatio, omiates suitable applicats each year to the Adelaide School of Nursig. I selectig applicats, the Society has regard to its particular obligatio to applicats from the Protestat commuity ad also to members of iter-church families. Applicats will be set a additioal applicatio form i mid-march, to be retured to the Adelaide Hospital Society. O the basis of the completed applicatio form, a list of eligible applicats will be selected. Mature applicats to Midwifery or Nursig are NOT required to submit a mature-studet supplemetary applicatio form to Triity. If you idicate Midwifery or Nursig as a mature studet, the Nursig Career Cetre will ivite you to a writte assessmet.
