Robert V. Walker and Douglas P. Sinn. Dr. Robert V. Walker served as Chair of the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the Department of Surgery at at Dallas from 95 to 9 and Dr. Douglas P. Sinn served in the same capacity from 9 to 0. Under their leadership and direction, the program produced 5 alumni, 29 department or division chairpersons, 2 deans, and research fellows. Target Audience This program is designed for oral and maxillofacial surgeons, dentists, dental spe- cialists, and other healthcare workers interested in oral and maxillofacial radiology. Purpose This activity will provide the attendee the most up-to-date information regarding and Content the fascinating field of oral and maxillofacial radiology. The program will use case presentations as the learning and discussion format and will cover the entire spectrum of radiology in dentistry. Educational Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to link the al Objectives objectives to Core Competencies (Medical Knowledge) and: Discuss critical issues of radiation safety Discuss importance of building a differential interpretation in radiology Interpret the most updated information of the application of advanced imaging in dentistry Recognize the complexity of the TMJ from the imaging perspective Discuss the role of radiology in the multidisciplinary approach to head and neck trauma Accreditation The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is accredited by the Ac- creditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide for physicians. Credit The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center designates this live activity Designation for a maximum of AMA PRA Category Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Yepes D.D.S., M.D., M.P.H., M.S., Dr.PH. is an associate professor in the department of pediatric dentistry at Indiana University School of Dentistry and an attending at Riley Children Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Juan F. is a dentist (DDS) and a physician (MD) from Javeriana University at Bogotá, Colombia. In 999, Juan F. moved to the USA and attended the University of Iowa and the University of Pennsylvania where he completed a fellowship and residency in Radiology and Oral Medicine respectively in 02 and 0. In 0, Juan F. completed a Master in Public Health (MPH), and in a Doctoral Degree in Public Health (DrPH) both with emphasis in Epidemiology at the University of Kentucky College of Public Health. In 0, Juan F. completed a residency program in Dental Public Health at University of Texas, Baylor College of Dentistry. Finally, Juan F. completed a residency program and a masters in pediatric dentistry at the University of Kentucky in 2. Juan F. is board-certified by the American Boards of Pediatric Dentistry, Oral Medicine, and Dental Public Health. He is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy of Oral Medicine, American Medical Association, Hispanic Dental Association, American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, American Association of Public Health Dentistry, International Association of Dental Research, International Association of Dento-Maxillo-Facial Radiology, and American Dental Association. Juan F. is a fellow in dental surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons at Edinburgh.
