5 QUALIFICATION Training and Assessment Diplomas Melbourne Polytechnic is offering e Diplomas in Training and Assessment in 2016 via a blended delivery model. TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training This qualification is designed to reflect e roles of experienced practitioners delivering training and assessment services wiin e vocational education and training (VET) sector. TAE50211 Diploma of Training Design and Development This qualification reflects e roles of training developers and instructional designers who are responsible for analysing training needs and designing training solutions and products to meet workplace capability requirements, and evaluating e effectiveness of training programs. They may have a role in providing guidance and advice to trainers and assessors, promoting innovative practices, e.g. e-learning, and in researching and incorporating best practice in training and assessment into training programs and products. 7 RESOURCES Resources will be provided by Melbourne Polytechnic and available on our e-learning platform. Participants are required to bring a USB storage device to all classes and have access to a computer and e internet outside of class. Libraries Melbourne Polytechnic have libraries located at each of its campuses - Collingwood, Epping, Fairfield, Heidelberg and Preston. Access to electronic resources, full text articles and e-books complement ese hard copy and audio-visual materials. Computer access is available at all campus libraries. Printing, photocopying and scanning facilities are also available. Student Services Qualified staff are available to discuss personal issues students may be experiencing. Students are also able to access study skills assistance if required. Car Parking Student and visitor parking is available on most campuses (except Prahran). 9 ASSESSMENT Strategy A range of assessment meods will be used to assess practical skills and knowledge. Assessments have been designed to relate to a real simulated workplace. Detailed information regarding individual units, training and assessment criteria will be found in e Unit Outlines available on e e-learning platform upon enrolment. Allowable Adjustments All evidence gaered will be assessed according to e rules of evidence. In addition, reasonable adjustments may be negotiated for participants wi disability, gender, age, cultural or language requirements. SKILLS RECOGNITION Skills recognition is e overarching term given to e recognition of skills and knowledge gained rough formal and informal training gained by e applicant. It acknowledges previous learning and current competence from a participant s relevant life, work experience, formal education and/or professional development. Skills Recognition should be considered applied and granted prior to commencement of a course so as unnecessary training does not occur. 11 Eligibility: Victorian Training Guarantee (VTG)* Under current VTG arrangements is enrolment may affect future training options and eligibility for government subsidised training. As of November 2014 you can commence a maximum of two subsidised courses at e same qualification level in your lifetime. This restriction applies wheer or not courses are completed. You can begin up to two subsidised courses in a year as long as you are not undertaking more an two courses at a time. Please visit e URL below for furer information and to ensure your understanding. Payment Options Option 1 Pay fees in full before commencement of course. Option 2 - Victorian Training Guarantee funded place VET FEE-HELP allows a student to have all or part of eir VET tuition fees paid by e Australian Government in e form of a loan, regardless of wheer ey are eligible or not for a government funded place. Eligibility Criteria applies. Option 3 Non Eligible for Victorian Training Guarantee funded place Students who are ineligible for VET FEE-HELP may choose to pay eir 2016 fees using e Instalment Payment Plan. Note: We do not accept American Express. Enrolment Requirements When enrolling, you are required to provide proof of citizenship/residency and age.
