2 Quick Facts Who The Powerade State Games of North Carolina is dedicated to encouraging camaraderie between different ages, socioeconomic and cultural groups through athletic competition and the Olympic spirit. The event assists in the development of physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle in its participants and promotes positive healthy activities for the participants, their families and the communities where they live. What The Powerade State Games of North Carolina is the largest multi-sport event in North Carolina. The Powerade State Games of North Carolina involve more athletes, facilities and hours of competition than the Olympic Games. Now in its 29th year of uniting North Carolina s residents in the common bond of amateur sport and Olympic spirit. The event is sanctioned by the United States Olympic Committee. Where Opening Ceremonies and 20+ sport competitions will be hosted by the Triangle (Raleigh, Cary & Durham) in 2015 & The Games will to the Piedmont Triad (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Burlington, High Point) for 2017 & 2018 and then to Charlotte in 2019 & When May 30-June 28, 2015 Participants Over 12,500 participants, 740 teams and 30,000 spectators participated in the 2014 Powerade State Games representing 96 North Carolina counties. Participants ranged in age from 4 to 80 with 90% between the ages of 8 and 17.
